Final Fantasy XIII Countdown: "A New Vision Will Soon Be Revealed"

Okay, we admit it: countdowns get us all excited. This countdown may not result in anything all that earth-shattering, but hey, it's bound to generate discussion.

Here it is: the Final Fantasy XIII countdown that everyone is talking about. It comes with the headline, "The countdown has begun. A new vision will soon be revealed to the world. Register now to ensure you're there for the unveiling." Well, it could be a really transparent way of getting subscribers to the site, but then again, perhaps Square-Enix really has some big news to reveal in less than a week. There are any number of possibilities: the official release date for Japan (highly unlikely we'll see one for North America, as S-E has already said it won't arrive until 2010), the announcement of a new Final Fantasy XIII spin-off title (hopefully not for the damn Wii or DS), or something else entirely. We know that many PS3 owners aren't big fans of the veteran publisher right now, but who isn't intrigued by a countdown? When someone tells you to prepare for a "new vision," it's easy to assume it's just another publicity stunt in a world governed by advertising, but you can't deny its appeal.

Considering the success of "Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children," there's the possibility of a CGI movie to go along with the release of Final Fantasy XIII. The announcement could really help to push sales of the new Blu-Ray version of "Advent Children," too. Who knows?

I think it will be the CGI movie. I can't really think of anything else they would do from a big dramatic countdown like this. If it is another spin-off for the Wii or handhelds, I'll just "meh" it.

i SERIOUSLY think, that if/when a FF7 remake is made.

it will go 360 exclusive. BECAUSE if/when it is announced, it will 100% positively be multiplat, and then M$ will pay millions to get it exclusive, or at least timed exclusive.

and then i will hire a few hitman, and assasinate the M$ board members....one....by....one

which wouldnt work, cuz M$ would just buy out the assasins.

and LMAO @ the achievement for RROD. thats so good. i seriously dont know why sony or other DEVs havnt used the RROD in promo's

I Need someone to answer this question because im confused, don't Sony owns the Final Fantasy 7 universe, because they were the ones who published it, so the claim rights to the whole cast of charaters and everything???

Hope its another related project to FFXII. I like the initiative they are taking with FFXII.
Hopefull it will be accessable to people outside of japan and be availabe on ps3.

To everyone saying that it will go 360 exclusive: you guys DO realize that they've ALREADY MADE the game on the PS3, right? The game will be multiplat, end of story.

I'm calling it right now: the "new vision" will be a reveal of the battle system mechanics.

Also, I think Ceedot's prediction is highly likely as well...

Well whatever it is I took the bait and drank the kool-aid. I registered and will find out whenever it happens probably just like everyone else who didn't register because it is most likely a big ploy to get people to sign up on their site.

Having never played a Final Fantasy game in my life I am probabbly one of a few people on here who will go meh, can wait see what happens lol.

Sometimes there is just a game or series you never get round to playing., May have to give it a look.

Hmmm...what could it be....???

-Maybe a Jap release date for Agito and Versus
-or maybe an Agito port to Wii
-Or maybe an announcement about a change in the Japanese release date FFXIII. An early release???? Most likely not, but that would be cool.

I want the news to be that S-E will not delay the PS3 version, if problems delay the 360 port. But thats just me.

U got me reminiscing on FF12 yesterday and I found my old Spring 2004 strategy guide and glanced over it a bit. I came to the conclusion:

You REALLY want get anything done in a 2 weeks trial. It takes you a whole day to get one mission done. And thats if you know what u doing. Good luck, bro.
