Prince Of Persia Movie Ad Spotted In Confessions Of A Shopaholic

Prince of Persia: Sands of Time remains one of our favorite games from the last generation, and after multiple subsequent installments in the popular and critically acclaimed franchise, it's no surprise to learn that Hollywood is stepping in. Yep, here's another chance for the movie-makers to turn a great game into a crappy film. 'sigh'

But perhaps this one has potential, and we should be hearing more about it very soon. According to MTV and Joystiq, a poster for the "Prince of Persia: Sands of Time" movie can be found in Times Square in Jerry Bruckheimer's upcoming film, "Confessions of a Shopaholic." No, we're not telling you to go see the latter just to catch a glimpse of the poster, but just so you know, it is there: it features Jake Gyllenhaal in full Prince costume, too. But while it makes sense to see an ad for another Bruckheimer movie in there; "Prince" isn't scheduled to hit theaters until 2010. For our part, considering they're focusing specifically on Sands of Time, we'd like to think their job is easier...and also, we're going to need someone to play Farah. Farah was the Prince's partner throughout most of the game, and of course, Hollywood would never pass on the chance to feature a hot actress in order to better appeal to their target demographic. But who might it be? Someone who could pass for Farah's ethnicity and style...we're thinkin' may be Eva Mendes. What do you think?

Anyway, we'll keep an eye on the movie's progression and hopefully, it will turn out to be a decent action flick. We keep believing Hollywood might finally step things up and deliver a movie that's on par with the game's excellence, but it hasn't happened yet. So just keep those fingers crossed.
