The PS3 Is A Sexy Chick Magnet

You may laugh. You may scoff. You may consider this a lame attempt by a Sony fansite (and the second the word "fansite" escapes your lips, we beat you to a bloody pulp with a crowbar) to promote the PlayStation 3. You might think it's a weird little opinion piece designed to be charmingly unique and appealing...well, perhaps the latter is true.

We all know that ladies are starting to become more involved with gaming with every passing year, but if you're currently on the dating scene or have already scored the fabulous filly, you need a console that gels with the relationship. And while one could make arguments for the Xbox 360 and Nintendo Wii, one has to look at the bigger picture. Check it out; the best reasons why the PS3 is the perfect chick magnet. No, seriously.

Blu-Ray = Johnny Depp in perfect high-def

Look, even though the man is typically the tech fiend in any given relationship, everyone can appreciate the best of the best in terms of video visuals. Special effects and slam-bang action movies aren't the only types of films that benefit from something like Blu-Ray; the chick flicks will jerk twice the number of tears when viewed in high definition. The male hunks are even more in-your-face (and more annoying for the boyfriend). At the end of the day, every couple will enjoy a Blu-Ray player, and the PS3 is not only the best one on the market according to recent statistics, it has got plenty more to offer...

Playing online DOESN'T cost us anything extra, dear!

Girlfriends and wives have long since bemoaned the fact that playing video games online incurs an extra cost, and when there's two people involved with the bills, it can be a sore topic of conversation. In the case of the PS3, not only is it completely free, but you can peruse the PlayStation Store free of charge as well...and that means showing your girl games like Magic Ball, Lumines Supernova and more. You know, those little puzzle games that remind her of the Flash games she plays at work when she's bored. Those cost money, yes, but it costs nothing to look, and when she knows you're online, she knows it can't be considered a paid luxury.

The Dual Shock 3 fits her cute hand better

Oh, don't get all offended, ladies; it's a compliment! While the 360's S controller is certainly smaller than the original Xbox controller, it's still larger than the Dual Shock 3. Furthermore, there's all that motion sensing that comes along with it - "see honey, the Wii isn't the only system that lets you move your hands around" - and the girl may even find it familiar. Let's face it: even if she has never been a gamer, there are hundreds of millions of PlayStation consoles around the world, and therefore, hundreds of millions of controllers. There's a darn good chance she has laid hands on a Sony gamepad at least once in her life, and yep, they're all designed exactly the same. Win, win, win.

Black goes with everything

The PS3 is a sexy machine, and a sleek black piece of electronic equipment is always easy on the eyes. It's never an eyesore and while the white of the 360 and Wii can draw attention, the PS3 fits beautifully in any dark-colored entertainment center. It also goes with most televisions, pieces of stereo equipment, and even furniture, so if your girl is into the whole interior decorating thing, the PS3 is perfect. True, it's a larger, heavier unit but once it's in place, it blends quite nicely. You may not give a rat's ass what the thing looks like or if it clashes with its surroundings, but then again, you also didn't know that cranberry "looked good on you." That is, until she told you.

There you have it. The PS3 is one helluva sexy chick magnet, isn't it?

agree to all those pointers. since I've had my ps3 I've had about 4 girlfriends and everytime we go to my place "wink" I fire up the ps3 to set music for the mood and she starts looking at it and says is that a playstation? couple mins later she starts exploring the xmb and is impressed with the blu ray movie and music, one of them sounded stupid and said this is like a computer but cooler. I was like yeah wanna see my room? "wink" but yeah from my experience ben has a point. good ol ben must have some experience also to post something like this. props ben

Though, my girl and I both own a PS3 and 360 (yes, we each have our own systems) and she adores her PS3. She loves the ability to listen to music, watch videos on the Internet on the big screen (yeah, so I gave the big screen to her) and play online for free. We both had XBL Gold memberships, but recently canceled them due to disatisfaction with the priced service.

So... I would have to say that Ben is right.

welcom aboard godsman, psx is prob the best site to get your ps3 news without the other crap like other sites tend to do. for some reason its a cool and hip thing to bash the ps3 for whatever reason. and this site atleast maintains credibility with their topics that are well portrayed and unbiased in any way or form. I'm surprised this post was so short. I mean, I could go on and on about how I myself make the PS3 a sexy chick magnet and from the way Ben likes to go on about his weight lifting hobby, I'm sure he could too!

For some reason while typing this I came up with a really good ad for the PS3 with James Bond. You know, cause he has all his little gadgets and the PS3 does so much.

yeah, the PS3 can get you in tons of trouble also... instead of buying my girl a purse or shoes or a birthday present, i went and bought my PS3 that year. i had to make up for it big time.
i've eased the tensions by showing her how wonderful the PS3 is for the BOTH of us. since then she's been hooking up her ipod to it, watching her chick flick in hi def, playing SF and MK games, and some of her classic PS2 games with it. she's been using it almost as much as i have and now its making me jealous. im thinking her next present will be her OWN PS3...

I played Wii with alot of girls I know (because they have one). I always prided the fact that a Xbox was a guys machine. When im with girls, the games are off.

The PS3 does look good tho. In a Japanese tech wonder kind of way.

I guess I better get an 'I Have A PS3' t-shirt or something and start advertising. Though I must point out while the sleek, black exterior of the console is fairly sexy it is a dust magnet so us single folks gotta keep it dust-free lest we get tagged as keeping a dirty abode, which alot of chicks don't like.

Is it possible alot of women dig them because of the high price tag? Most women have an innate disposition to the finer things in life most likely because money typically equals status and biologically they are drawn to the leader of the pack types to ensure fertilization by strong genes. The PS3 is the equivalent of a Lexus in both look and cost, few female hormones can resist it's lure.

I agree with everything posted, its dead on. except my girl has a dif. look on it. she hates it, and apparently im obsessed. i wanna know how much game time other guys like any of you get in a week with g/f, fiancees or what have you. It's a sin around here i guess, and it makes me run to turn the machine off everytime she gets home! sucks! The PS3 is by far the sexiest machine though, i dont know why more girls dont want it in there lives, that should be the sin (not having one) its the best entertainment package out there by far for men and woman!

Now if my girlfriend had a ps3 that'd turn me on. Hell i don't care if she had a 360 as long as she was a gamer, but we all know thats not gonna happen

I know lots of Female gamers i am one of them, we just don't like guys who act all i'm better than you towards a game because i'm a guy thats a total turn off. Plus the 360 is ugly, PS3 is so much sexier. Wii's on it's own LOL

Have to add that LittleBigPlanet is chick magnet as well.

Not only are the sackboys/sackgirls "cute" but you can play the game WITH THEM.

+you can make awesome stages which goes with the things she likes.

Just don't attempt to have her make her own levels. My fiance is good with FPS and loves to play LBP but I made the mistake of letting her try to make a level and my DS3 wound up across the room and she wouldn't touch the game for a month damn near.

Why is the Xbox controller called the'S'? I mean Dual Shock 3.. Its got two sides to vibrate and shock you with and its in its 3red generation. But 'S'..seems more like a placeholder for when they were making prototypes for it..

As for the chick magnet..my gf knows i love mine. She buys me nothing but games for it..so ill hold on to her for another while!!Still her over da PS3 anyday..sorry if i offend anyone!

@ everyone... i take all the advice i can get... i was curious as to how much time u get cus i wanna compare, im laid off so at the moment i get more than usual so i cant complain as much right now, except i dont have a job but, besides that i hate having to run to turn it off cus i know something will go down when she gets home thats how pathetic this is lol. also if i tried any of WIZARDS techniques... well lets just say she'll fight back. Here is whats funny its not like im spending more time on my PS3 than with her she thinks im obsessed i dont know how much time she thinks i should actually play it but when i turn it on and she hears it its "your seriously playing that again?" i tried getting her to play LBP even used "well my buddies girl plays with him" wont happen but whats really funny is i hate my wii i wanna sell it cus we never use it but she wont let me cus what if some day way in the future we wanna play it. My point is I dont know why but if I told her i was selling my PS3 (it will never happen) i think she'd let me lol. O and Ben lol we talk about it alot thing is she dont think its a hobby i guess, she claims its my life (how i dont disagree with her that i would love to be involved in the gaming industry some how some way to make it my job and my life) but its not obviously i will hang out with friends, and even this sunday be watching the super bowl either way im with you BEN, a hobby is a hobby. srry so long...

If you're laid off, be extra careful. Especially with all the doom&gloom being televised about the economy, you gotta be careful to not let it get to you too much or your relationships. At the same, female mind works it's own way regardless of reality. She might be secretly blaming the ps3 for the layoff instead of the economy? She might be secretly thinking that you should be busy looking for work all the time, if you care about her and yourself. But no matter what, you need your free time for your ownself, too. But you gotta be clever about it. Play when she's watching TV, asleep, you know. Talk, let her in the know, but if she's weak in understanding, but she means a lot to you, do what you gotta do.

yeah i hear ya man, i actually was justt recently laid off less than a week ago this has een goin on forever so... but i know what your tryin to say. and yes i am looking for work she knows that too... also i ussually get most of my time to play now when she is at work but, before this i played when she was doing her make up or "getting ready" so i find time... good lookin out, by the way is maybe 15 hrs a week too much? most of the plying time is on the weekends and maybe 1-2 hours a night i got off @ 3:30 she gets off at 6 so that left me the time inbetween to play. then weekends so???? im just curious how much others play too ya know i got people on my friends list that will be on when i log on and be on when i log off so????

I'm sure 15 hours is nothing compared to some people clocking on world of warcraft. And 15 hours is usually what I clock on a new release. So what I say is don't play till you're bored, or when she walks in, or whatever... Get up while you still want some. Fact is, like Ben said, it's you who's got to control it, not anyone else.

lol ben, all good valid points. sorry for being absent for so long, i just got a job that i need to get up at 2am to do. i plow snow at gas stations and such so getting up oober early gives me the advantage.

we got up at 2am this morning and just got back at around sixish this afternoon and we were on the road that whole time.
