Guitar Hero: World Tour Standalone Drum Set Priced And Dated
Do you have Guitar Hero: World Tour, but sadly are without the very cool drum set? Didn't want to spring for the giant, all-inclusive (and quite pricey) package? Well, you needn't worry.
Neversoft has revealed that the Guitar Hero: World Tour drum set will release as a standalone product on February 15. It'll cost you $99 to pick it up, and although that's $10 more than the Rock Band 2 standalone drum set, it's still worth it for GH fans. Initially, the World Tour drums will be available at GameStop and Best Buy, although we imagine it'll show up at other retailers around the country soon after. Just be advised: this announcement only pertains to North America; the set will come to Europe and Australia "at a later date." And as Joystiq pointed out, if you include the cymbal add-on for the RB2 drum set, your total comes to $108, so the $100 for the GH:WT drum set isn't a bad deal at all. And if you ask around, you'll realize that you can't have a true music multiplayer experience without a drummer, and yeah, it can be pretty darn challenging. Just try some of those songs on drums on Hard or - God forbid - Expert level!
If you're not entirely checked out on which instruments are compatible with which games, Joystiq has this great Compatibility Matrix so you'll have a firm handle on everything. It can get pretty complicated, you know.
