Killzone 2 Demo Arrives On European Store This Thursday

For those of you anxiously anticipating PSXE's Killzone 2 review, please be patient. We assure you, it's coming very soon...in the meantime, we have good news for our gaming buddies across the pond.

According to D-PAD magazine, SCEE has officially confirmed that the KZ2 playable demo will be available on the European PlayStation Store on February 5. If the Monday doldrums have you zoning out this morning, we'll remind you that the 5th is this Thursday. This demo will boast the first two sections of "Corinth River," which is the first level of the game, and players will also receive the initial tutorial sequence included in the final retail version. Here in the U.S., you can gain access to the playable demo by pre-ordering the game at GameStop (provided they have any codes left to hand out), or you can wait for it to arrive on the North American Store. Maybe it'll pop up this Thursday here, too. We had heard rumors that Sony wouldn't release the demo in the U.S. until just before the game launched on February 27, but that news didn't go over too well, if we remember correctly. The bottom line is that the earlier you get to play this awesome FPS, the better.

We'll keep you informed, but for now, you Euro gamers should be pleased. In only a few days time, you'll be able to sample what is certainly the best game of 2009 so far and also one of the best titles of the entire generation.

srsly i agree why do people boo-hoo about demos n trailers in different realms you can simply download it by making an account for that realm. i personally have 3 accounts a us, euro, n Japanese account.

Or, pre order the game... a friend of mine was complaining " i want the demo, damn europeans!!" and I asked, yu have 70$(CAD)? he sayd, "Yes, i an getting this game as soon as it releases"...
common sence says take 5 out of it, and slap it on a preorder so you can get the bloody promo card(very amazing ^-^) quit complaining... plus, if it did release on the us/CAD store, then wouldn't it have been a big F-U to all the preorderers whom forked the money out pre mature? just my two cents

I decided that I'm not going to play the demo (even though I've pre-ordered with Gamestop). I'm going to hold out until the end of the month and have my mind completely blown all at once.

Did anyone see the superbowl commercial last night? I must have missed it.

Hurray for me being in Europe! Awesome, and I also pre-ordered the game from Game (lol) this past Friday. Can't wait!

I was in the beta though, so I have kinda already tried the multiplayer, but can't wait to try the single player!

Yay just in time for my birthday. Too damn bad that my PS3 won't be up and running by then. Maybe I will high-jack my fiance's sister's PS3 and make a EU account and download it.

Hate to say this but, "If you don't know what you're talkin bout, don't talk about it" The reason you preordered K2 and got your preorder code from Gamestop was to give you early access to the demo...IN THE US, not other countries. From what I've known, Euro was set to have the demo for FREE the same DAY as the US's preorder demo.

believe the demo works until the 26th at 11:59:59PM EST (-5)... and most gamestop areas open for a midnight release @ 12:00:00AM EST (-5) so you technically have one second of downtime, + the ride home :P

went to EB games 4 mine, the gamestop heres full of xbots and refused to tell me about the kz2 code... they said "well gears 2 is out now ya know ;P" i went 2 see the manager and hes like "Uhh Wut?" stupid GS... my EB games has 1 xbot, the rest are PS3 nuts!! EL OH EL

Ah damn.. I was hoping the demo would give a little taste of multiplayer too, like a map with a set time limit or something, a la the Bad Company demo from last summer. That would've made the wait MUCH easier considering that the game is still a good chunk of the month away...

Here's to creating a EU account then!

I noticed earlier that there are tons of people (360 too) on other sites who downloaded the RE5 demo and found it very disappointing. The best comments were, "It's like RE4 w/ nicer graphics" but there were FAR more complaints like "You can't shoot while running??? Lame!" and "I was excited before, but now I just feel irritated." Sounds like even RE5 might not be the runaway hit people were expecting.

I'm glad you can make a euro account on the ps3 and a japanese account. I got both so i can thankfully download killzone. I just hope its worth it and it can be considered a "system seller" like the 360 has had with halo or gears
