Activision CEO Spills Beans On Currently Unannounced DJ Hero
In terms of sales, gained popularity and growth, the music genre has absolutely exploded in this new generation. Therefore, it only makes sense to have publishers take the next logical step in the process.
According to GameSpot, Activision Blizzard president and CEO Bobby Kotick spilled the beans on a currently unannounced music title during an interview with CNBC. The game is called DJ Hero, and as the name suggests, it will test your turntable abilities to the maximum. The Kotick quote in question is as follows:
"We have this product called DJ Hero coming out later this year, which is a turntable that you actually can play competitively and spin discs and mix songs. So there's definitely some physical interface that is starting to have an impact on the consumer."
This unofficial revealing comes hot on the heels of leaked information concerning a new music title that will "integrate both a turntable-style controller and Guitar Hero guitars." This fancy new controller may boast a scratch platter, three sampling buttons, a cross fader and a sound-effects dial. And although we can't say for sure, it seems that B-Boy developer FreeStyleGames (now under Activision Blizzard's umbrella) is in the driver's seat for this one. So while it certainly seems inevitable, we'll be awaiting the official announcement for DJ Hero.

I like the sound of a DJ Hero if it is well put together, but what syle of music will it use?
It would make sense to upload tracks from your PS3 HDD.
You can get DJ mixing tables software for PC and mix all your MP3's.

I'm gonna have to say no. I mean, everyone wants to be a Rockstar, but a DJ?
I predict a Flop. I'd almost rather have an 8 key keyboard to jam out the opening stuff in Foreplay/Long Time than have a turntable.
