With one of the highest pre-orders on Amazon and other sites I think it'll really get some sales. And xbox360 users aren't going to like Halo Wars very much.

Halo Wars is going to be at least as successful as LBP. It's about time a decent RTS came to a console, and Halo Wars will be it.

I personally am very psyched about Halo Wars since I don't have a desktop any more...

Killzone 2? Always waiting for a good FPS.

I dont see Master Chief Underwear being a flop if it were materialized (though Im sure many have made their own). The name will sell itself. I think people are missing the fact its an RTS not FPS just seeing the smoke screen of HALO.

Nothing against RTS though, I love AoE (Ensemble)

LMAO!!!!! I love the drama when fanboy battles go on. Especially when Josh made the most ignorant statements ever and then another person came in with his or her ignorant statements and then Ben comes in silencing it all stating how insane both of them really are.

But god...why spend time in a place like this if you don't like Playstation or don't own a Playstation console? This is a site dedicated to the Xtreme PS fans.

As for the topic, KZ2, my only question during all this time was "Is it really as good as it seems" - and the answer seems to be a solid YES. With the review PSXextreme put up and the one IGN put up. And yes IGN gave it a 9.4/10 - and I believe it had its reasons. But either way - it's 9.0 and ABOVE!!! That's great for KZ 2. However if Sony wants this to sell - they got to advertise!!!

Make a commercial with nothing but intensity, displaying the graphics, doesn't have to show storyline, just has to show gameplay and intensity of gameplay. Then ends the commercial with a bang stating KILLZONE 2 in bold with the Playstation 3 exclusive part in the end. Make an actual ad just for KZ 2 - then it will sell equally or probably more than MGS 4.

Killzone 2 looks to be the point man in the operation. It will be interesting to watch the tide turn as this hits and then Uncharted 2 and then GoWIII because people who were scared to put away their tinker toy 360 finally plunk down the cash for a system on this game alone, realize that all the other exclusives are mind numbingly entertaining and all at once go "Why the deuce wasn't I playing this system the whole time?"

From reading forums around the web, seems Killzone 2 is converting some X360 owners to PS3 owner. Sad really. You'd figure that X360 gamers would convert after their 2nd 3rd even 5th defective X360.

It's definitely unrealistic to say it'll be a turning point, but it will boost sales. If anything, it's more like another solid landmark in the turn-around, just like MGS4 was and future exclusives will be.

it all comes down to sony being able to play their cards right, if they get them right, they could really begin doing some damage to the 360 sales wise, release an excellent game evry 2months and they're as good as gold, it'll maintain the momentum till the yr ends, don't do like last yr when most of the games came out in the last 2-3 months, then they'll be robbing each game from sales

I would have to say it is probably going to open a lot of eyes... As for the people who have already been enjoying their PS3's a "turnaround" is the last thing on their mind... ;) Seriously who can be worried about who is in the "console lead" when only PS3 owners get uncharted 2, killzone 2, Ratchet and Clank 2, Versus, GOW3, etc etc. TOO MUCH TO LOOK FORWARD TOO.

lol the bigger the audience the more money sony makes, the more money sony makes the better the comunity is, eventually people will see the vast amounts of quality games ps3 has and swich over, kz2 is gona have some sales but it ain't even the most anticipated game, personally its fith in my list after mag, vs., gow3 and ico's project. People will eventually embrace the dark side. oh and I read this story of a bunch of ps3 fanboys making a bonfire out of a few dozen 360s, I dont necessarily support this but it is funy as hell and gets me pumped, for nothing but pumped either way.

Well he did personally attack a member here because that member attacked an Xbox exclusive game. I am talking about in the KZ2 review. And in the same review Josh personally attacked me for wanting to know what games were coming out for Xbox and when I wanted to know more than just Halo and the GTA DLC I was labeled as a dick so even if they aren't the same guy they have the same attitude and I think someone that runs this site should do a quick IP check to see if it is the same person and perma ban one of the accounts and maybe the whole IP if Josh and this mystery man can't keep to civil discourse

Yeah I just checked out your list of "exclusives" I might like a lot of the games on your list but I will be getting them all on the PS3. WEWM has a list farther down on this page with real exclusives and some of them perk my interest quite a bit. Your comment on the other topic about exclusives are all that matter is correct as far in as to say that if it is multiplat I will be purchasing it for the PS3 so you see I only own a 360 for the soul purpose of its exclusives so that is all I want to hear about on the subject that is why I don't go to any 360 sites that are structured like this one. I am not a fan of the company that backs the system nor am I a fan of their business practices. I am not necessarily a fan of Sony either I just feel like they are a better more trustworthy company who treat the industry with respect and that respect translates to their business model and customer relations. I like the 360 for what it is: a game system that has a few exclusives that I am into. I like the PS3 for what it is: a game system with exclusives I am into and I like Sony for being a company that yes, might be in it to turn a profit but in doing so they do not hurt the industry of gaming or break consumer trust.

Sony made a friend to mine pay 150 dollars to fix his PS3 because the light was flicking yellow.

Mind you this was lil over a year after he got it and they said nope you have to pay for it.

Now me if my Elite redrings within 3 years after I got it I get it fixed free of charge.

Josh that is because one in 3 360s were failing and getting the RROD. The yellow light on the PS3 is far below industry standards of defectiveness. So your friend was unlucky, so was I. My PS3s fan fried and I have to pay 150 to get it fixed but it doesn't bother me because I know I won't go through multiple systems and I know that the chances of getting a defective PS3 are slim the reason I hesitated on buying a 360 is because I knew the chances of getting a defective unit were extremely high even if M$ is paying to get them fixed it is a slap in the face to the consumer to actually put out a product with a 30% failure rate.

josh thats only because MS wanted to avoid a huge backlash for releasing a system with hardware failures that happens more often than any other system in history.

If you really think that they do it because they care for the customers, you are really wrong about that.

yeah serious, who sells a product that is that defective. I mean like any of the windows products? Lets be the first out the gate then fix our screw ups later. meanwhile customers pay for that mistake. sometimes with money. sometimes with time. eg. I really don't care if my xbox gets fixed for free (which it should anyway) when i'm out of a system for 2 months

Well, I did my research and 360's 2009 exclusive lineup is looking rather pitiful, with some of the reported ones already coming to PS3 and a few questionable new IPs plus they are listing add-on packs and stuff. Yet the gomers are still saying it looks better than ours... go figure. I'm not beating my chest here, these just look bad to this gamer.

I always think that sony brings more to the convention than the others, plus they have 50% of there developers without anounced games like evolution studios, ico and even gg, and supposedly lvl 5 has joined the family and they don't have anything anounced yet, I don't remeber the other developers name but there are at least 8 more without anounced titles

About damn time! Thanks so much WEWM I thought we were getting Mass Effect 2 on the PS3 as well. I might have to pick up Ninety-Nine Nights 2 and Alan Wake looks like it might shape up to be something I am into. Is the Huxley that is coming to 360 the MMOFPS? Sounds like MAG to me. And I thought I heard rumblings of a MMO where you play as super heros which sounds a lot like DC Universe Online.

Sony has this year in the bag...
Halo failed due to H3 and no one is really caring about Halo War's lol

An the only reason why xbox360 is so "popular" is cause its quick plug n play, like CSS you can startup a game and be playing gears of war in like 2mins max...or halo you can pop into a game online fast.

Sony will either get this whole year...or the 2nd year off into the bag. I got a friend who like straight loved the 360 and he's saved money for it up till now...he bought world tour before he even got the console. he got the Elite and played gh:wt...shutdown

go up next day and had red ring of death. he's been trash talking sony and ps since ive know'en him, but now he wants to camp with me for KZ2

Well we don't have to worry about that too much. I think the analogy was made a while ago about the PS3 being like a Maserati and the 360 being like a BMW. (Maybe not those but you get the idea)

See the PS3 is like this status symbol that only celebrities and rock stars and billionaires own and the 360 is this similar status symbol but everyone in Marin owns one. You know that is why the call it Basic Marin Wheels BMW. Anyway, you see to own a PS3 means you are part of this exclusive elitist group that has disposable income and can buy and kill a call girl if you so desire.

Now prepubescent high pitched children can't go out buy a call girl and dispose of her in a devious manner and get away with it. They can't afford to. So they have to stick with the Beemer and cruise around looking flashy until one of us pulls up in our Maserati.

Point in case: Little kids own 360 because their parents don't want to fork over the money for a Maserati for junior baby son of a b*tch.

New guy here, long time PSX fan, first time poster. Let me start off by saying Ben and Arnold Im diggin ur site. It has all the stuff i wanna know about(anything PS3 related) and none of the crap i dont wanna know about(take a guess). I actually stumbled across this site because they were giving away a blue PS3. Did anybody ever win that thing? Anyways, Im not a sony fanboy by any means, more like a dedicated customer who will defend sony till the death! Ha. Ive had every PS system and an Xbox,not to mention most everything from previous generations. Not bragging just saying. Ive come to appreciate sony's style over the years. Just about all electronics i own are sony. Not intentionally but with thier features, reliability,and smooth lookin shit, i always choose them.
Since I played MGS 1 and GOW I knew I had to follow those series till the end. It was not an option to stray from them. Obliously I gotta be PS3 equipped to do so. No brainer. Although i did have MGS2 on Xbox. But it was only because my ps2 was broken AND i got the Xbox brand new for free.
Anyways Ima PS3 fan and thats it. I wont bother lookin at another console. There might be awsome games for another competing system, but i dont care. I dont pay attention,therefore outta sight,outta mind. Its good to be here with fellow PS3 fans. Thanks again to Ben and Arnold.

Forgot to add thats Killzone looks very promising and it will be the second FPS ive played, the first being R2. After playing R2 and reviewing KZ2, I have very high standards for FPS's now. Cheers to Sony and all its developers for raising the bar.

I think it would sell pretty well, maybe not as well as halo 3 which is pretty much obvious due to sony's lack-luster marketing .But it probably would sell more than mgs4 whih is a lot in my opinion .

Killzone 2 is just the first strike and upcoming exclusiv titles are the following ones, but there´s one thing that will be the "critical hit" - There´s a company in Europe which developed a system to put realtime telemetry data from running formula1 races to the net. They patented it already. So, we will be able to join real! Formula1 races online as a contender. This is awesome and the best thing about is: Only PS3 is able to handle this amount of data - as a companies employee stated.

There was talk of trying this with a new Rocket Racing League, Basically it was rocket powered planes racing through digital waypoints, and people at home were going to be able to race real time as well. But I don't know what happened to it.

The thing I wondered though is how will collisions work? If you're racing in your "virtual" car and bump a real car on the track, will that knock you out of the race? Be interesting to see how it pans out.

KZ2 graphic look impressive and gameplay looks really fun....but i never been good at FPS...i even hated them....i never finished the first 15 minutes of HALO1 or GEOW or even Resistance 1..since then i stopped buying FPS....but KZ2...looks so good, i could even just show it off when my friends come around....should i buy this game??? What do u think, even tho i don't play FPS...i absolutely sucks at it......

I think we can all agree that KZ2 is going to be bad***. I hope it sells more ps3's because of KZ2. I believe it is such a great system even if it costs about $100 more than the 360.

My reason? I recently bought a 360 in Dec 08 so I could finally play Left4Dead and GeoW2. I think they are both really fun. But last night I purchased GeoW2 and popped it in and guess what? I was in the middle of the intro cut scene and then... BaM!!! RRoD!!! I couldn't believe it.. I had to laugh and call my buddies because this has happened to 1 out of 2 ppl I know who have the ****box. I still like the games but c'mon! my ps systems have NeVEr and I mean NEVER crapped out on me. And I only had the 360 for about 5 weeks!!! My ps2 from 9 years back still works silky smooth!

And on this topic im honestly happy that the Sony guys are getting more into the FPS genre. Its becoming the blockbuster of games and now something both sides can enjoy.

I look at it like this. The better KillZone does. The more they will step up on my side.

So even if it does well. Its a win/win for both of us. Ill try to test it out sometime and see what its about.

Josh do you have a PS3? I strongly recommend it. I have both systems and I think its a good way to go to enjoy both. I mean why do you have to wait for "your side" to step it up when you can just give in and get a ps3 to enjoy KZ2?

I used to be all about ps3 mainly because I don't like the 360 controller, but its actually a good controller for FPS games, hence my likeness for L4D and GeoW.

Josh it is very nice to hide behind the anonymity of the internet and say that you have 25 grand just lying around. If you really had the much money just lying around I highly doubt you would be trolling around a Sony news site stirring up all the trouble you do. I think it more over comes down to you being a 21 year old that still lives at home and who doesn't work but goes to college about 2-3 days a week and doesn't have anything better to do than bother people. Furthermore the only reason you don't have a PS3 is because your parents won't shell out the money for one and the only reason they let you stay at their house is because you are going to school.

See but I don't know if any of this is true I am just going on your birth date that is in your profile and assuming it is correct and based on that assumption I am guessing you are lying about the 25 grand "lying around" because in the economic climate is it more likely that you are lying than for a 21 year old to just have that much money sitting there, unless you are a trust fund baby because from your activity here it doesn't seem like you work, or you could do tech work like I do and sit at a desk pushing code while you chat here, but then you definitely wouldn't have 25 grand lying around because unlike the mass media likes to portray they don't pay us code monkeys tons of money like they did back at the start of the internet boom.

Anyway, say what you like. I fully believe that if you had 25 grand sitting around then you wouldn't give two craps about burning up $400 to buy a console considering that you call yourself a gamer and there are exclusive games on the PS3 and it is another status symbol to push you just that much higher than the people you know.

A buddy of mine bought a Crapbox 360 Elite a while ago, brought it home, hooked it up and was playing GOW2 for about an hour and it crapped out. RROD. Lol's. Hilarious. So his 400 dollar purchase lasted an hour and then he was on the phone for a repair box..OMG. I also own a 360. On my 4th and last. Owned all the Playstation consoles and all still run like new. My PS2 was even a launch console and after all the thousands of hours playing games on it and the thousands of movie watches on it, the dam thing still runs with no quirks. SONY QUALITY. That's what its about with their hardware and on top of that the best quality of games. I only play one title franchise on crapbox (Forza series) and that's it, otherwise all my time and money is spent on my PS3..KZ2 is already bought and payed for and the demo starts this thursday. Woot Woot. So long Microsoft.

$400 for an elite? That isn't even worth it.. especially when they get RRoD. I mean I enjoy some 360 games as well. Why not? their games are just as fun. But when you compare quality consoles, Would you rather pay $400 for Elite or pay $400 for a ps3 with bluray? It's not even close. I only paid $178 for my 360 premium with only 20gb. I think the price was fine but I can't justify paying $400 unless it does more than play a video game.

Josh - I don't think you should stay away from PS sites as I sometimes read 360 sites to see whats going on, but you have to admit, the PS3 is a good quality system and the BR feature is hard to complain about. I still think the $400 price tag is justified when compared to the 360 elite. The ps3 is higher quality with BR, for $100 its worth it!

Im done.

I cant stand the lack of respect for parents I dont even have anymore. Games are one thing. But when you talk about that its clear respect is needed and amazingly lacked. Unlike 80 percent of PS3 fanboys I paid my own money for a Xbox. And unlike most here I DONT hate the PS3. I spent most of my time trying to wake people up.

You guys want me gone good ill gladly leave. Let me apologize for not being blinded by a god damn game system. Let me apologize for not rooting for everything Sony does. Even tho I owned almost all of them and gave the most unbiased review of a PS3 I still know nothing because I like MS better.

Don't worry he'll be back on tomorrow. Funny he has all this money sitting in his account and says he doesn't hate the PS3, yet he can't drop 400 bills down for a PS3. I smell BS there. Can't wait to hear his comments on total hardware sales and software sales of Sony VS Microsoft once Microsoft abandons the 360 a few years from now like they did their fist console that only lasted 4 years. I've got a huge smile on my face when I think what this guy looks like and stands for..And Sorry Josh, never knew you're parents passed away. Sorry to hear about that. Anyways Can't wait to hook up with some of you for the next awesome Sony Exclusive being Killzone 2. Graphics gap will be much bigger, quality and quantity vg is obviously on ps3 side, and online community might become better simply cause sony seems to listen, and unlike ms, sony buys developers not games (here is hoping that SE is next).

Quantum Theory better have really good graphics and they better kill off those god damn jaggers. They're pissing me off as of late. There are some bad ass games on the PS3 with no jaggers, and K2 is one of them. Above that, they need to make that game an open-field, with very smart AI, lots of battle, lots of action, abilities and stuff like that. Oh they better make it really, really good and LONG.

I find it funny how some people say they can't play FPS's on consoles because of the game pad. I personally can't play FPS's on a keyboard and mouse. Why? I'm fine with the mouse, but I lose crucial time trying to find the right buttons that are spaced around the entire keyboard, so that you cant reach them all with one hand. IMO, the best FPSing comes with a dualshock controller in hand.

maybe we just need to get used to the pads, but key/mouse is still the fastest combo. It takes some getting used to with the keyboard but most games are designed to have the buttons right there...
