The Punisher: No Mercy Assaults PSN This Spring
Well, it's certainly a good idea to put this on the PSN, and not try for a full $60 release. We can pretty much guarantee that it would've been a miserable failure, but as a downloadable title, this one could be very worth your while.
Zen Studios has announced that Punisher: No Mercy will be hitting the PSN this spring, and it could be an appreciated addition to the Store. It uses the Unreal Engine 3 - what doesn't these days? - and if you couldn't guess, you're gonna be blowing tons of crap up. Here's one picture and you can see the rest of the gallery over at Joystiq. Past games in the series haven't been very good, but this time, you'll probably be able to pick up Frank Castle's latest quest for revenge for an agreeable price. So far, we've seen full downloadable titles range in from $7.99 to $14.99 in price, and for being able to stay home and spend a fraction of a normal new release...well, that's a major bonus. No Mercy isn't about to compete with Killzone 2, and now, it doesn't need to. In short, this might be the first Punisher game that won't insult you.
We'll bring you more details as they become available, and we hope to see the solidified release date soon. The PSN is getting some good stuff in 2009, isn't it? And remember, this is a PSN exclusive, too...
