"Unlockable Mode" Headed To RE5?
Before we even get started, we have to remind everyone that there is no such thing as an "action-oriented gameplay mechanic" for Resident Evil 5 that will let you move while shooting. Capcom has confirmed that with us, and we have the final review build of the game, too. But something is coming, according to the upcoming March issue of PlayStation: The Official Magazine.
As UK site DarkZero pointed out, the RE5 review is in that issue, and downloadable content is coming soon after the game's launch. We're not entirely sure what that content is, but apparently, it includes some sort of "unlockable mode" for all the survival/horror fans out there. Here's the quote in question:
"The fun doesn't end when you complete RE5s main story-line. We're sworn to secrecy, but we've had a peek at an unlockable mode for forthcoming DLC, and it's awesome."
Now, we have to assume that if Capcom was planning nothing more than a series of new costumes or something, the magazine could've filled us in. But whatever this is, it's significant, and we're wondering what that new mode might be...perhaps it's nothing more than an extra mission or two, but even that would be appreciated. The other option, as this was in a PlayStation magazine, is that it could be exclusive DLC for the PS3 version of the game. That too seems unlikely, though, as Capcom's insistence on a multiplatform focus this generation hasn't wavered. Oh well, guess we'll just have to wait.
Oh, and if you're wondering, the review was a perfect 5/5. :)

Has there been confirmation on a mercenaries mode. That IMO made RE4 replayable indefinitely. To leave it out would seem a little on the lame side.

They can't release the game without 'The mercenaries'so i bet they got rid of a side story(i hear it might invole H.U.N.K.)that would normally be unlocked after completion of the story mode.
Hopefully i'm wrong but if i'm right, this is why DVD sucks balls as of 2006 & ID makers of Doom, quake ect. have maxed out DVD on PC with their new game RAGE,which ships on two DVD"s on both PC & XBOX360.

I am not surprised in the 5/5 score... from the demo it likes like a solid game, solid engine and solid graphics... however I never saw any solid snakes around :) ...just a whole lot of zombies!
OffTopic: Is there any DLC for MGS4?
Q!
