SCEA Ushers In "PSN Spring Fever"

Can you smell it? It...it's Spring Fever! ...okay, we're jumping the gun a little, but Sony doesn't seem to think so. And based on what they've got on tap for the PSN, you should probably catch a whiff of something sweet.

SCEA has announced their "PlayStation Network Spring Fever" collection, which celebrates "exceptional games and content releasing on the PlayStation Store leading into Spring." Over the next few months, you will be able to enjoy everything from today's launch of Flower to future titles like No Gravity for the PSP. As of right now, there are already 164 games available for download on the PSN (about 45% of which are exclusive to the U.S.), and as an added bonus, the official PlayStation blog will boast all sorts of great behind-the-scenes stuff, like interviews and fresh info for the hottest new titles. Getting back to the Store, it will have a dedicated "PSN Spring Fever" section for you to open and peruse, so there's more incentive than ever to log on to the free service. Here's a sampling of what you can expect:

  • Flower
  • Noby Noby Boy
  • No Gravity
  • Wheel of Fortune
  • Burn Zombie Burn
  • Ragdoll Kung Fu: Fists of Plastic
  • The Punisher: No Mercy
  • Bomberman Ultra
  • Comet Crash
  • Watchmen
  • Flock
  • Worms
  • Zen Pinball

And it won't end there. If you haven't caught spring fever just yet, you will; just jump onto the Store and sort through the huge amount of content that's available. If you're looking for ways to cut down on costs, this is a great way to nab some satisfying entertainment for excellent budget prices.

this is definitely going to be one the best years for the ps3. killzone 2 is 2 weeks away, resident evil 5 isn't far, and we still have a whole bunch exclusives lined up for the year, and this "spring fever" only adds to the excitement

Honestly a lot of those psn games I have never heard of, but all of them sound interersting enough that I might have to look into it. I've spent way more than 150$ into the psn so far, 188 downloads lol. And I believe the PSN is definitely a great service. Noby Noby Boy, Flower, and Rag Doll Kung Fu are definite day 1 purchases for me, but I'll probably buy the rest too. lol =)

Ben you've been looking forward to this no? Do we get a review? The whole thing seems so esoteric to me I feel a need to understand it.

I'd be happier if they'd make Syndicate Wars (and old school Bullfrog game) available on the U.S. Playstation Store. Right now, it's sitting there taunting me in the U.K.'s Playstation Store... Why? Why must they do things like this to torment me?

Its a bit weird to loop "flowers" and "dudes" together in one sentence. At one point, your post sounded extremely feminine, then it finished of at an failed attempt of sounding masculine.

I'm not tryna criticize you, or make fun of you in general. It just made me laugh a little at the thought of a hardcore, popular school Jock playing a game dealing with floating flowers and pretty vistas.

Ben, what can you tell us about Zen Pinball? Most of the other titles in the list have already been released, but as a longtime fan of traditional pinball, I'm really interested in this one.

Any new news to report? Photos? Videos? Release date? Anything? Thanks, as always...
