New Pacific Rift Demo For The PSN

October and November of 2008 were absolutely insane; I believe Arnold had a stack of games to review he couldn't even see over. We both had a ton of stuff to do and as hard as we worked, we still couldn't cover it all immediately. As gamers, you guys couldn't have played everything you wanted to play, either, right?

Well, if MotorStorm: Pacific Rift is one of the games you missed, now might be the time to pick it up. If you need any further convincing, head onto the PlayStation Store and try out the all-new demo. As announced by the official PlayStation blog, the new demo features the single-player and split-screen multiplayer race option as it did before, but they're tossing in an awesome new track. It's the favorite of the fans at MotorStorm.com: Razorback. As the blog says- "With its thick jungle, colossal waterfalls, dank caves and a multitude of routes, the Razorback is an ideal taster of the off road thrills and spills MotorStorm: Pacific Rift has to offer, so grab it and give it a whirl." There are plenty of great tracks in the game, and if you're a fan of off-road racers, you absolutely can't miss out on this one. Maybe you had to choose between Pure and Pacific Rift and chose the former - not a bad choice at all - and you've been wanting to try the top-notch sequel ever since. Come on, nobody had the time to play both last year.

Anyway, another reason to head onto the PSN is the freshly released Flower, which is fantastic. We'll be posting a review for that in just a few minutes, so stick around...

Yes, one of the reasons I didn't like it. I also didn't like strange anomalies of the first, such as the terrible shadowing effects and crazy physics. I will try the demo anyways, just for a blast and see how I like it now :)

One of the more underrated games in a while...this game screams bad-ass the moment you get to the main menu...the online is 99% lag-free and the ranking system is addicting, all kinds of stat tracking...Not to mention, in-game music, in-game photos...The game looks extremely good at high speeds...

It does get really hard in single player after a while but it's do-able...

I didn't LOVE the first, but the second I played the Pacific Rift demo I was overwhelmed with fun. Seriously, what's not good about this game? The crashes are craaaaazy and the handling feels perfect.

My biggest problem with the series is the ridiculously CHEAP AI that are always with you and make it their #1 priority to keep you in the back. Their priority is not winning, it's making sure you don't win.

I love the Razorback track. It fits well for all vehicle classes because the alternate routes aren't THAT out of the way!

Hopefully, this new demo will spark new sales, as this one kind of got buried in a sea of holiday releases. I knew I'd pick it up eventually. Perhaps, I'll grab it after I get KZ2 this month.

Motorstorm Pacific Rift is hand's down the most visceral off road racing experience.

I thought I would hate the 'bouncy' monster trucks addition but it turns out they are the most fun to drive.

And the engine sounds.....Oh.. those engine sounds....

@timster118 I totally agree. The Motorstormm series is my favorite racing series now. Never thought I would dig an off road racing series more then street racing series.

Sometimes I'll Free-play Monster Truck races for the sake of it being the BEST.

I bought the Motorstorm 80 gig bundle back in the day and never really got into the game. I'm sorry but I can't have my engine exploding all the time.
