Naughty Dog, Insomniac Lend Help To God Of War III Devs
We always heap plenty of praise upon the SCEA Santa Monica team when it comes to the God of War franchise, but in regards to the third and final installation of the wildly popular series, we have to extend our thanks to a few other inside parties.
According to French gaming magazine PSM3, both Naughty Dog and Insomniac have contribued to GoWIII's development. If you didn't already know, Naughty Dog is responsible for the stellar Uncharted: Drake's Fortune (and the upcoming Uncharted 2: Among Thieves, of course), and Insomniac is well known for the long-running and critically acclaimed Ratchet and Clank franchise. So when you sit down and play the final majesty that is God of War III, you should hand your appreciation to what is amounting to the "big 3" under Sony's umbrella. Although previous directors David Jaffe and Cory Balrog aren't back to work on this project, they've got plenty of talented help, don't you think? And once this game is done, how's about they get together for another project? We're not entirely sure what kind of role Naughty Dog and Insomniac had, but any influence at all means they get their names in the credits, and are deserving of respect. Now, all we need is more GoWIII gameplay details, and - oh dear God, please - a release date.
For the record, GameStop is listing a March 2010 launch for the game, and we expect that to stay right where it is unless SCEA surprises us at E3, or something.

The multi-plats; accept for Codemasters' EGO engine do not really do justice to the Sony machine. I feel CODIV and CODV are just not good enough; especially the poor texturing in many places.
The hope has always been that proprietary engines on a target platform should always, in the end, render better results... and this year there is proof of this... KZ2, GoWIII, Unchartered II, Heavy Rain, GT5... should show us all what can be done on this machine... and I still think there is another 30% left over... once optimisation routines and compression techniques are refined...
Now unleash the naughty dog!

But of course, I'd rather prefer two game companies working on one big title than separate ones, like how supposedly all of SquareEnix is working on XIII (though VersusXIII and TLR seem to say it's not so).

Hence the David Jaffe rants for GoW3. He's not a part of SCEA anymore.
It's like one big happy family - a highly competitive, incredibly diverse, international family, BUT still a family....that make games...

Although Microsoft has the money to dish out and acquire exclusives or force them to go multi-platform (it can also be the 3rd party developer's choice, you never know, it's business), Microsoft isn't the type of company to allow more than one developer contribute to another's, even if it's a small helping.
To them it's basically, "you make awesome game, we do awesome marketing, regardless if game is crap, we make money".
