Watchmen: The End Is Nigh Priced At $20 For PSN/XBLA/Steam
The digital download is not only becoming better and more diverse with every passing year, it's also getting a bit more expensive.
Wipeout HD was one of the first titles on the PSN to cost $20, and last year's Braid on Xbox Live cost $15. Many games only cost between $4.99 and $9.99, but there are a few that cost more to produce and are slightly deeper in terms of substance, and one of them will be Watchmen: The End is Nigh. According to Joystiq, Warner Bros. Interactive has confirmed that the episodic title will release to the PSN and XBLA with the "luxury" DLC price of $20 (it will also cost $20 on Steam). Now, maybe you'll consider this game worth the price once you lay your eyes on the screenshot gallery; it's pretty well polished. It's hard to tell how the game will turn out, though, so we suggest waiting to see a few reviews before dropping the $20. We especially recommend this based on the sheer number of options currently available on both the PSN and XBLA; excellent titles like Flower - for only $10 - may be more worthy of your time.
But we do have high hopes for Watchmen, just because we always secretly wish that a decent superhero game will arrive, be it downloadable or not. The game is scheduled to release on March 5.
