Early Modern Warfare 2 Info Leaked?

We're all anxiously awaiting the first official details for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, but in the meantime, why not consider some unofficial information supposedly taken from a play tester?

A large list of details have popped up over at GamePlanets, and while none of this is confirmed, a lot of it seems perfectly plausible. For example, we're looking at the return of vehicles (including helicopters) and most of your favorite weapons, new weapons (including a new sniper rifle and two new assault rifles), and a grand total of 35 weapons for what is guaranteed to be an awesome multiplayer mode. We see a KillCam save feature, offline and online co-op, and the nifty addition of special grass camouflage for snipers. But perhaps most importantly, it seems we'll be looking at a November release for Modern Warfare 2, which seems possible. They did give it an estimated 2009 launch when they first unveiled the game, and November would be the perfect time for its arrival. It could compete with Naughty Dog's Uncharted 2: Among Thieves as the biggest holiday release of the year, and we can always use another awesome FPS, right? The original CoD4 set the bar quite high, but we have confidence that Infinity Ward will leap over that bar without much trouble. That's one talented team.

We always like to look down the road a ways to see what's coming for the holidays, even if it is only March. Modern Warfare 2 is easily one of the most massive releases of 2009, so we're going to keep a definite eye on it.

But didn't World At War just release last November?

If the developers can make the storyline longer and better than MW I'm hooked!

WaW was done by a differnt dev, a dev who just kind of copied over all the textures from COD3 and touched them up a bit using Infinity Wards engine

vechiles are fun, but people need to stop fart assing around in them. in cod5 ground war - war mode, i'm always going after the flags, and people are farting around in the vechiles instead of helping me. i barely scrape a win, and my kill death, well, i can't get it above 1 coz of those titheads.

I am not looking foward to this as much as I was before.I didn't think KZ2 would be this good.I'll check it out but it would take a lot for it to take the focus away from KZ2.

I feel the same way... don't forget the huge amounts of money people are spending on these games... I mean I am limiting myself to 3 full priced titles per year, and 3 PSN titles (similar to Flower) per year... otherwise it just gets too much. I am also finding it difficult to find the time to play these games and complete them...

No use simply buying and buying without games properly completed yet :(

Yeah, there hasn't been a five.
And I really hate it when people think that World At War is Call Of Duty 5, as it is not.
There was always a Call Of Duty between each numbered Call Of Duty.
Call Of Duty 2, Call of Duty 2: Big Red One, Call Of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, Call Of Duty: World At War.. Get the idea?

i'm pretty sure you're gonna want a sequel to Cod:MW2 = Cod:MW3 but it kind of confuses a fella. So, it's branching out? is it a spin-off or main series? like final fantasy 10-2-international-new battle mode? sarcasm doesn't transcribe well into writing....

Actually I'm pretty sure it is 5, since I read an article (Sadly I totally don't remember where it was or what site :( ) where Activision said that they wanted to stop the numbered sequels entirely, like cod5, cod6, cod7, because, or I'm guess is, they don't want people to realize there are so many of the same game. But hey, it works for FF1-13, so why stop? lol

Can't wait. I'm one of those people who play COD4 constantly and I've completed all the challenges and golden guns, and grown a little tired of the levels. I hope they listened to some of my suggestions on twitter, but I'm sure it will be awesome anyway. I'm happy KZ2 is as sick as it is, it should keep me occupied till then; and learning how to shoot again is kinda fun.

Vehicles suck! I gotta baby sit my team online cuz of tanks!

And Thank Goodness they didnt allow silent snipes(combined with UAV jammer) would make a man impossible to kill and would wind up bein more of a baby sit campaign.

I think of KZ2 as kinda my grand fairwell to FPS games for a while. I can't see myself getting too excited for this game. But who knows, November is a long way away.

When will COD just die and go away. Becoming like an EA Sports title. New version every year. Yawn. Gonna take one hell of a version to take my attention away from KZ2. COD graphics were always paste on environments. No moving trees or grass. No destructable buildings. Only 18 online supported..Boring. MAG when it comes out will be the next shooter I will buy and like KZ2 will blow the doors off of the COD series. As good as Infinity Ward is at this franchise they can't compete with the likes of GG's technological feat in terms of the amazing, blow you're mind away Killzone 2. That game has reset the bar on FPS.

exactly, I can't really get excited over a game that keeps on coming every year with same graphics and minor improvements is sports title.KZ2 has become my favorite fps of all time and will keep me satisfied till Heavy rain or Uncharted 2 comes out.

Just dismiss the Treyarch COD games and focuse on the Infinity Ward ones and it comes out to every other year we get a good game.

And remember just because it has been done doesn't mean it can't be loved. I mean on ps2 there was a new ratchet and clank every year or less for a while there

@HOODGE I agree cod4 mw2 is going against a titan kz2 technically wise kz2 will be far more superior then cod4 mw2, because gg use the power of the ps3 cell processor cod4 mw2 won't use much of the cell processor because its a multiplatform game and the 360 isn't powerful like the ps3 because it's and the 360 dvd9s are limited compare to sony blu-ray 50gigs. Im not saying cod mw2 isn't going be good but the game will be limited because of ps3.

I got my hopes up when I saw SR25 as a new weapon because that gun is made with a silencer on it. But then I scrolled down and saw that there was no silenced snipers in MP.

The coolest edition that a sniper has ever received in a game is the cloaking device that render's you invisible in Killzone 2. Maybe this time around InfinityWard can finally learn how to implement trophies in a game. The demo for KZ2 does the game little justice, weirdo's.

They have to have trophy support now.
i just hope they get rid of those f*cking choppers. I mean fair play to someone getting seven kills but i think the choppers should get a maximum of 3 kills before going away. They just make it so boring...realistic but boring.
