Team ICO To Reveal New Project At GDC Or E3 2009?

PlayStation 3 owners have been waiting patiently (or in some cases, not so patiently) for details concerning Team ICO's mysterious project. Well, the latest update seems to indicate an unveiling at either this month's Game Developer Conference, or at E3 in June.

According to CGReviews, the fact that Shadow of the Colossus creator Fumito Ueda is speaking at the GDC this year should mean something, and if the game is revealed, we may see the first trailer at E3. Evidently, the reason this game has remained shrouded behind a veil of secrecy is simply because it hasn't held an "official title" for the past five months. Also, because the complete date is a good ways off - Fall 2010 - Sony didn't want everyone filing onto the hype train too soon; many might start asking to disembark well before the train actually reaches its destination. As for the rest of what we'll see at E3, one of the more interesting games is Heavy Rain, which should be nearing the finish line. God of War III is certainly expected to make a big splash as well. But those who remember ICO and SotC with a fond, wistful look in their eyes have been waiting on Team ICO information for a long time, and their wait may soon be over. Well, the wait for the announcement, anyway; Fall 2010 is still pretty far in the future.

If the game does finally see the light of day at either conference, we'll be sure to let you know about it ASAP. Some are hoping for a direct sequel to SotC while others simply want another awesome IP. But either way, we're all expecting something special.

I don't mind either way but the SOTC ending was like, haha sucks to be you(Wander). But either way it will be an amazing game.

Man...I hear so much about SotC! I wanna play it but I don't know what the game play is like and why its so addictive. It may be just me, but I don't see how climbing giants is fun. Not saying it isn't though.

Addicting... maybe. But amazing was the word I used to describe the experiance. Climb a giant, find his weakspot, and start stabing. The game is a puzzler and it is well done with a great artistic feel. It is really fun, honest. Give it a try.

This makes me sad. By the time it's released I won't be a student anymore. I hope I can still find time for video games.

wow! this looks promising for the ps3. i never had a chance to play SOTC on the ps2. If this is a sequel to SOTC, i'll be sure to try that game.

I havent played ico but was pretty interested in it because of all of the good things i was hearing about it... i could never find it though, which was pretty dissapointing.
When SotC came out i picked it up as soon as i could and it completely blew me away! One of my favorite games to date!
Cant wait to see whats next, im really excited

I own 3 copies of Ico and 4 copies of SoTC... Land it to some friends and never got it back, sent some to Brazil thinking I was moving back then gave up and had to buy it again :-)
Gave those games as gifts to many of my friends and cousins, just had to own a copy to call my own thou.
If you never played it do yourself a favor and buy it! Like LVertigo says, Ebay is the way, and I have seem many used copies on Gamestop.

I love both games but have never seen the end of ico. Every copy i have ever had has frozen on me either at the very last cutscene or somewhere in the middle and it is so depressing. I have both and if the ICO team made something for PS3 It would definitely be a must buy.
