Bioshock 2 Mystery: "Whatever It Is, It's Taking Our Daughters"

Bioshock 2: Sea of Dreams has yet to have an official unveiling, but considering the teaser site has already been updated with more content, we imagine the announcement is very near.

SomethingInTheSea.com has some new evidence to sort through, and if you're a fan of creepy, intriguing storylines, we suggest you take a few minutes and examine the added scraps of paper. The plot is beginning to take shape: clearly, there have been reports of a "glowing red light" in the sea, spotted by more than a few witnesses. There's a picture of a fishing vessel with the red light beneath the waters, and it says the light is moving at 30 knots. Some are calling it the "UFO" of the sea, and there are more reports of missing children; young girls, specifically. One report denounces the phenomenon as a hoax, but a hand-written note beside the newspaper article says, "Whatever it is, it's taking our daughters." If you include this with the previous evidence of footprints in the sand - the size and shape of which might actually indicate the existence of female Big Daddies (Big Mommies?) - the storyline suddenly becomes borderline survival/horror-ish in nature. Remember, one of Bioshock's biggest strengths was its plot, and we're expecting an even more engrossing story in Sea of Dreams. The more we see, the more excited we become!

Hopefully, 2K will announce the game and give us all the early details within the next few weeks. Provided it does make it to store shelves later this year, Bioshock 2 will be a highly sought-after holiday release!

Yep, this will be on many, many, many people's wish list. I've played the demo and a few levels of the first Bioshock on a friend's 360, loved it, but waiting for a price drop before picking it up for the PS3. Probably happen around the release date for the sequel. :)

The proper term is USO, unidentified submerged object :)

Someone please tell me this isn't a port, the Bioshock port was almost flawless, but I like it when they dev for both systems.

It was $30 about a week or two ago on amazon. Now it's $37. Amazon marketplace has it for about $33 shipped (cheapest).

On half.com, it goes for $27 used, $34 new.

I picked it up for $20 at best buy a few weeks ago when 2k had their $10 off coupon.

The first one was great and looking forward to this one. Wonder if the Big Sisters will be more brutal than the Daddies. Though I'd rather have System Shock 3 and wish the rumor that surfaced 3 years ago would prove true but hasn't so far. Also waiting on the Bioshock movie supposedly releasing next year. It has the potential to be one of the better game-to-film adaptations.

Is the glowing red light a gigantic Red Ring of Death?

If I remember right, the end of Bioshock one was, that you and the little sisters left Rapture by boat. (I played it as 'friend' of the little sisters). Maybe those red lights underneath the water are the big daddies, searching for their lost little sisters. The may have developed greater speed now. And those footprints might be from habitants of rapture, remember the little sister were essential for Rapture and they might want to have them back. Imagine those genetic degenerated freak on shore...*scary* :-) well it might be this or something completly different - who knows...?
