Atelier Rorona Revealed In Dengeki As A PS3 Exclusive
Hey, how's about a new RPG for the PlayStation 3? Who's going to refuse? ...if you start, we will hunt you down and do bad, bad, bad things to your pets.
Thanks to PS3Center, we have learned that Japanese gaming publication Dengeki has lifted the lid on a new exclusive JRPG entitled, Atelier Rorona. The hardcore fans will immediately recognize the first part of that name, as there have been multiple installments in Gust's franchise on the PS2 over the past several years. The last, Atelier Iris 3: Grand Phantasm wasn't so great, but the games always had a lot of potential, and they certainly appeal to the appropriate niche audience. Come March 27, we'll learn more about Rorona, but we can pretty much guarantee that it'll be a turn-based RPG with plenty of anime influence and a very colorful palette. One could call it a throwback, but remember, this will be the first entry on the PlayStation 3, so we're expecting more prettiness and more depth. It's not the type of RPG that's good for everyone, but we're certain that there's a very interested minority out there who will probably pick this up on day one. As soon as the 27th rolls around, we'll try to latch onto those new details.
Atelier Rorona is also a very cool name to say. Kinda just rolls off the tongue. Try it; say it out loud. ...see? Isn't that sweet?

This is funny, i've spent the better part of the day looking online for 'anything' jrpg-ish. I don't really have the cash but I was looking at psp games even, and even going so low as to plan on buying DS :P which i don't want at all really, i just want some damn bright and colorful jrpgs. Not sure if this one will be any good, or if it'll even come out anytime soon, but at least it's something! and it's exclusive to ps3! booya!

As much fun as I'm having with KZ2, the RPG bug bit me in the ass and I broke out Grandia II for Dreamcast last night, I forgot just how great that game was.

That's very important, lately Square-Enix's rpgs have like the weirdest, and un-inspiring character designs ever....
Now all I ask from this game is to give me a solid story. The gameplay can suck, but if they story makes up for it that's all the goodness I need from it. And for the game to be long of course.
Anyway it's great news!

I can't wait for X-Edge to come out in May. I ordered the Japanese version but then canceled it when I heard it was coming out in the U.S. in May.
Still waiting on Tears To Tiara (JRPG) and Demon's Souls from NCS because I'm waiting for them to pick me up a few other PS2 games.

I'm sure that the 360 has had plenty of smaller titled exclusives this entire time, but what does it mean when the ps3 is also starting to get them?
