Sony Clarifies PS3 European Launch Plans
A few days ago, SCE Worldwide Studios president Phil Harrison supposedly refused to confirm a March 2007 European PS3 launch, and things got a little out of hand on the Internet. Some sources even claimed this hinted at another inevitable delay.
Harrison's quote read-
"Given that all of our previous statements about launching in Europe simultaneously with the U.S. and Japan turned out not to be the case, I would not like to make any definitive statements on that."
However, Sony has leaped in to clarify his comments with something a little more official, and hopefully should settle the mini-uproar. According to Sony's ThreeSpeech blog, Harrison's words were "taken out of context."
"Phil was taken out of context, in so much as he declined to comment on how many units would be available for the launch, but we're still fully committed and on track for March," reads the official Sony statement.
Okay, so all you European gamers can cool your jets. You should still expect the PS3 in March.
