Tecmo To Unveil New PS3 Exclusive?

Here's the thing with Tecmo: it seems as if they want to embrace the competitor with the most powerful console in each generation. Last generation, we saw Tecmo focusing on the Xbox, so might it stand to reason that we see the developer turning their emphasis to the PlayStation 3 this time around?

Well, it certainly seems possible. The newest rumor circulating around the Internet (which, as far as we can tell, began in the NeoGAF forums) is that Tecmo is set to unveil a brand new project, and it's a PS3 exclusive. They plan to debut the title on March 24; we know this due to e-mails Tecmo sent to certain press members, asking them to attend an event at a PlayStation Store in San Francisco at 3 p.m. After the announcement, there should be a 30-minute Q&A session with the producer and director of this mystery game. Now, because this will all take place in a PlayStation Store, everyone is just assuming the title in question is a PS3 exclusive, and we're all starting to wonder...what the heck is it? They couldn't possibly be referring to Ninja Gaiden III; it's a franchise that has gone multiplatform already (from Microsoft to Sony, actually). We're expecting an interesting IP of some kind, although we're not about to make any further predictions. You can bet we'll be paying close attention on the 24th of this month, though...

Yeah, we'll tell you as soon as we hear what it is. Tecmo is a talented developer who is capable of doing some amazing stuff, so this could turn out to be very good news for PS3 owners.

I take a Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 game but if it's not I would like to see a new Fatal Frame game even tho the Wii has part four locked up for itself.

Quantum Theory is already confirmed by them so it could possibly be a new IP.

yeah, I doubt they are going to announce another PS3 exclusive. Two games at once for one system - I doubt it.

I think it may be the "western" announcement of the game - it had only been confirmed for Japan previously.

Hopefully it means some gameplay footage and a 2009 release date...

I don't put all of my faith in Tecmo, they've lost the creator of Ninja Gaiden, while the last notable game from them was NG2.

The classic one was slightly updated and released on the DS. But I agree, I'd love to see it re-released again for everybody else.

If its another exclusive its going 2 be awsome,but does it have space 2 be released this year. I hope sony plan thier stuff properly or thier going 2 swamp the market. Well this might be a good idea if they r going to reduce the price of the PS3.

I never did like the Ninja Gaiden series. Even the original saga on the NES. I'd like to see them give us a new Fatal Frame, Dead or Alive, Tecmo Bowl, Tecmo Wrestling, Kagero: Deception, hell I'd even go for a new Gallop Racer lol. Maybe they'll surprise us with something completely new.

Agreed, My friend told me how awesome it was on the Xbox so I picked Sigma, I was disappointed when I finished it.

Maybe they are going to let Dead or Alive die and this will be a new Fighting Game. Hell the fighting genre is back with a vengeance.

i got ninja gaidan sigma, played it about 2 hours and im completely stuck and havent picked it up since. Hoping Tecmo will make something easier lol
