2K Confirms: Bioshock 2 Scheduled For PS3, 360 And PC
We figure a few of you are still worried, despite the fact that some will only say, "geez, it's logical to assume that a Bioshock sequel would be multiplatform!"
Earlier this week, Take-Two Interactive issued an estimated release calendar for 2009, and everyone leaped all over the "TBA" platform listing next to the title, Bioshock 2: Sea of Dreams. Immediately, the Xbox 360 fans wanted to assume that Microsoft may have purchased another timed exclusivity deal, although there was little evidence to support such a theory. Thankfully, though, the publisher has confirmed with MTV Multiplayer that the hotly anticipated sequel is scheduled to hit the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC. Now, as we don't yet have an exact release date, there's still some speculation that a timed exclusive release for a single platform is possible, but as far as we're concerned, it's extremely unlikely. When the original Bioshock released, the PS3 was still in the early stages and Microsoft could purchase a temporary "360-only" deal simply because the user base of Sony's machine wasn't significant. Come the latter part of this year, there will be 25+ million PS3 units circulating out there, and 2K simply can't afford to pass on that crowd, even for only a short time.
As it hasn't been officially confirmed, we won't sit here and tell you that Sea of Dreams will absolutely launch simultaneously for all three platforms, but we will say it's a damn good possibility.

Since then, the game has dropped fast in price, too, hovering around the $30 to $40 range.
