Devil May Cry Milestone: Capcom Ships 10 Million Worldwide
Dante exploded onto the scene early last generation to immense critical acclaim and widespread fan appreciation. The cocky hero has gone on to star in three more titles since the original, and it appears that his popularity is on the rise.
Capcom has announced that the stellar action series has officially shipped 10 million copies worldwide. The most recent installment, last year's Devil May Cry 4, is the best-selling DMC thus far, as it managed to top 2.2 million copies sold. Just about everyone in the gaming world recognizes the title, which is why Capcom is now using "Devil May Cry" to push other entertainment venues, such as comics, graphic novels, action figures, and anime. In fact, they just announced the new "Devil May Cry" anime yesterday at the Tokyo International Anime Fair 2009, so Capcom has no qualms whatsoever about commercializing the heck out of Dante and Co. It's called business, yes? Anyway, we're all fairly certain that a DMC5 is in the works and should arrive at some point, and as the only significant slip in the series was DMC2, we have supremely high hopes for the next entry. Dante remains one of the best protagonists in video game history; a healthy departure from the brooding, reluctant hero who doesn't want to get his hands dirty. Dante will kick your ass and spit on your corpse, and that's bad-ass.
DMC4 is certainly one of our personal favorites from this generation and these sales/ship numbers are richly deserved. We were hooked on DMC the instant we played the demo that was included in Resident Evil: Code Veronica and ever since, we've only wanted more. Congrats, Capcom!

You don't want the game to become another Tomb Raider..If they completely redesign it, then the fans will be choked about it, if they leave it alone then you won't attract new people to the game that have never played them.
I say let Dante and Nero go out with a bang and start a new game before the series gets stale.
That's just my opinion though, and it looks like by most of the comments here, not a lot of people will agree with me.

Have to agree with Ch1nook, make one more and close it out. Whatever happened to it's competitor Bayonetta? It looks a little corny but I wanna rent that sucka when it comes out too.
