Incognito's Dylan Jobe Forms New Studio: Lightbox Interactive
As reported by Kotaku, another leading talent in the industry has decided to become an entrepreneur.
Earlier this morning, Dylan Jobe revealed that "he and other members of Incognito entertainment have left the company to form their own studio." The studio will be called Lightbox Interactive and they plan to produce several new titles for Sony Computer Entertainment of America within the "PlayStation family of platforms," as Incognito always did. For a brief history lesson, you should know that Incognito was founded about a decade ago with both Scott Campbell and David Jaffe, who recently left in 2007 to co-found their own studio, Eat Sleep Play. Long-time industry fans should recognize Incognito for their Twisted Metal efforts, and current fans who still love to play Warhawk will congratulate Incognito for their PS3 effort. Evidently, this transition from Incognito to Lightbox has been in the works for almost a year, and nobody lost their job during the switch. However, the studio will relocate to Austin, Texas this fall, which is when they'll officially open their doors to begin work on their new projects (whatever they may be). Perhaps they'll try an offline Warhawk sequel...?
If you want to check out the official Lightbox site, feel free. We really can't wait to hear what these guys have in store for us; whatever it is, you can bet it's going to be a PS3 or PSP exclusive - as indicated above - and knowing the minds involved, you should be pretty darn excited.

If you spawn some great dev teams, back them with enormous support, then when the makers of such games as Twisted Metal and Warhawk realize their potential and want to break out on their own, they are more likely to remember their roots. There exists no support for the 360 quite like this and I think it ensures a long healthy life for Sony platforms.

Developers know they can't stick with DVD forever, they gotta try new stuff to improve their skills, and Blu-Ray is the way to go.
As for the Sony losing exclusives, it's not the developers fault if they are offered HUGE amount of money from Microsoft.

So what's the total count of internal studios and independent exclusive Sony developers now?
