PlayStation Home: Welcome To Xi

There appears to be a new phenomenon taking place within the virtual world of PlayStation Home...it's called "Xi," and if you want to be part of the mystery, we suggest you log in now and begin your investigation.

Much of this remains shrouded in secrecy, but you'll want to check out the Xi Messageboard thread over at the official PlayStation forums. It contains the announcement that "Xi is an adventure based on PlayStation Home," and to find out more, head into the Main Square and look for some graffiti on a wall... Once you do, you'll be transported to a HUB of some kind.  If you move over to page 3 of that thread, there's a chronological breakdown of how Xi is progressing; in other words, you get a look at all the up-to-date events, and the corresponding user responsible for discovering a new piece of information. We're not about to spoil the surprise - even if we could, we wouldn't - so we suggest you all give Xi a try, as it's yet another reason to jump into the ever-expanding Home world. Xi is going to be one of those things that may keep you coming back over and over again, if only to find the next clue; the next piece of the puzzle. In this particular case, you may be joined by hundreds of other seekers, but then again, perhaps that's the entire point: maybe we're all supposed to help each other on this one. Maybe it requires a group mentality to see Xi through to completion. Who knows?

If you've been following along, maybe you can help out some PSXE readers by posting any information you've discovered in the forums. And if any questions arises in the Comments section of this article, feel free to dole out some pearls of wisdom. We'll probably need 'em!

Okay, now this might get interesting soon. I knew Home would expand into some other areas eventually. I think they probably released the barebones Home just because we all kept whining. Maybe Xi (whatever the deuce it is) will kick it up a notch.

I think this could be a neat concept but on the same line I think this could be a grab for users to boot up a long dust collecting Home. I truly haven't used Home since it went public. Maybe once or twice popping in and looking around. I went into the RE5 space once I bought the game and that was about it.

I noticed something guys,
go into 'thr hub' area and either press x on the holopads or x on 'stapler' and then immediately start running forward. After a couple seconds a weird futuristic noise is played and u suddenly stop running.
I really wanna find out more about this! It still isn't working when I'm standing under the teleportation machine as it just displays 'awaiting activation'. Weird.

While it isn't my aim to be a party-pooper, I have tried the beta of Home and I must ask…

…what does it offer that will make it worth participating in over pinging headshots off helmets in CoD4?

I hope this "Xi" thing does something to justify the space it takes up in my now-failing HDD.

I read about this in joystiq and I'm a little interested. I haven't been in home for months now due to my TV not being able to output it or something like that.
