Cross Edge Confirmed For US Release
It's a nod to all the JRPG fans out there, as it features a collaboration of characters from multiple titles, all of whom will compete in an old-school, side-scrolling action/adventure. How sweet is this?
Today, NIS America has confirmed that Cross Edge, their new PlayStation 3 exclusive, will release in North America on May 24. Co-developed by Nippon Ichi, Idea Factory, Gust, Namco Bandai and Capcom, the game will boast many different characters from previous RPGs. The list includes:
- Etna- Disgaea
- Aurica- Ar tonelico
- Marie- Atlier Iris
- Meu- Spectral Souls
- Morgan- Darkstalkers
And although it sounds simple on the surface, the fans should understand that there will be plenty of depth. Cross Edge will have a standard action battle system that has you pressing all four face buttons on the controller for attacks, chain combos and special skills, and let's not forget about costume changes and "an extensive synthesizing system." Basically, you'll be moving through dungeons searching for treasure and as we understand it, the character who finds the most loot wins.
For more information, go ahead and visit the game's official site. JRPG fans everywhere have been hoping to see something more traditional on the PS3, and this is it...let's just hope this action/RPG is worth the price of admission!

I was originally going to import this game from NCS, but I dropped it when I found out about the U.S. version.
Originally, the game was scheduled to come out next month; but NISA delayed it to include trophies, which weren't in the original Japanese version.
Next up... Bring Tears To Tiara out here (and WKC of course), another PS3 exclusive JRPG.

Looks good. Funny how Sony is now getting tons of exclusives and games that were exclusive to the box but only better cough*NinjaGaiden2*cough and Sony just dropped the dev tool PS3 to a pathetically low price. Sh*t now most of us could afford to buy a PS3 developers kit.

I always thought that they're so dumb not to keep their exclusives, but.......it seems that they get MORE exclusives instead.
So it's like you gain something when you lose something eh?
But Cross Edge?
As an RPG fan this is so on my shop list!

Also glad to see Aurica again, Ar Tonelico was one of my favourite games.
