GDC 09: Ivent's Strength Of The Sword Revealed For PS3
Several weeks ago, we guessed at the possibility of more PS3 exclusives in the future. Well, it seems that today's news from the Game Developers Conference has proven us correct in some small measure.
According to ScrawlFX, a new independent developer has lifted the lid on their project, a title designed for the PlayStation 3 and PC. It's called Strength of the Sword and can be considered a third-person action adventure set in a fantasy universe. Fresh face Ivent Games will be at the helm, and you will play as Strahil, "former leader of the 'Upper Kingdom' and victim of a plot leading him to prison." Your environment will consist of the "Island of Dreams," and you will slash your way forward through four more locales in an effort to lay down the law. Those who wrongfully imprisoned you will pay for their treachery! You can check out some concept art and early screenshots over at the official site, and as you can see, it features a cartoon-y artistic flair. In some ways, we're reminded of The Mark of Kri, and we always appreciate a new take on video game visuals. It'll be interesting to see how Strength of the Sword shapes up over time, but we have high hopes for the final result; we could always use another great PS3 exclusive, right?
We'll keep an eye on this one, and whenever they decide to provide us with an estimated release date and more details, we'll be sure to let you know.

The concept art looks great, the story muight be interesting, but it will be hard to get around the graphics. I am usually not a graphics whore, but this is no more than a "Maybe" rental. Love the Tim Burton backgrounds though.
Who knows, they might tighten it up and make a awesome sleeper title.

There is a reason most people call the Wii a Gamecube in a new casing with waggle controls.
BTW, I have a Wii. Just picked up MadWorld for it... another game that would have been on the PS2 as well last gen.
It is killing me to see all these games that would have been on the PS2 last gen going exclusive to other platforms (MadWorld, Deadly Creatures, No More Heroes 1 & 2, Ace Combat 6, etc...).
