Gran Turismo 5 Releases "When It Makes The Most Sense"
While Gran Turismo 5: Prologue is one hell of a demo (if that's what you wish to call it), racing enthusiasts are still eagerly anticipating the final launch of the full game. There is no estimated release date yet, but we do have an interesting update for you.
SCEA director of hardware marketing, John Koller, told VG247 that the driving simulator would release "across all platforms" at a time when it would "make the most sense." Obviously, some would like to include competing platforms like the Xbox 360 in that "all platforms" comment, but Koller was likely including the PSP; we're expecting the official announcement of a GT5 PSP version at E3. Gran Turismo is most certainly an exclusive franchise, for a variety of reasons. As for the second part - "what makes sense" - there has been a lot of speculation and debate concerning those words...we really don't know what he means. It almost sounds as if it's a matter of market timing rather than the simpler, "whenever they finish the game" mentality. Say, for example, they complete the game in September (highly unlikely, but this is just a hypothetical) but it would make "more sense" to release it on the PS3 and PSP in late November or early December for the holidays. So, they wait to launch it.
But there's no way of knowing for sure. Koller went on to say that Polyphony is a "developer who makes a lot of their own decisions," and that besides the fact that GT is certainly important to Sony, they can't make "any announcements regarding the game at this time." Well, we've at least heard that before. We're familiar with that comment.

GT5 is the biggie i'm waiting for. Can't come sooner. Best looking Sim ever. Race Pro on 360 is garbage and that's from SIMBIN who are best known for being the no.1 simulator producers on the PC. Game is full of bugs and the graphics pale in comparison to GT5.

I can't wait for GT5 to come out but if it means wait longer for quality then by all means go for it. NFS is dead to me... A moment of silence for the ounce great franchise. May you rest in peace and forever live on in Most wanted, Hot Pursuit 2, Carbon, and Underground 2. So long good friend...... *sniff, sniff*

I highly doubt we'll get the full game by December '09 as much as ild like it, i doubt we will. This factor raises the issue i always say, if you're a GT fan then you owe it to yourself to buy Prologue. The racing is great, the cars are meticulous and the tracks are enough to make a racer horny.

I can understand that they will wait for "the right time" to release GT5. They will probably wait to do it when the market has settled down a bit and when they will move the most units/consoles possible.
They've been working on this for so long now they need to make sure the launch goes absolutely perfect. Where they can take the biggest corner of the market at that specific time.
Hopefully (seeing they make a lot of their own decisions themselves) they will run a big (successful)advertising campaign to promote GT5 and it's release.
So I think once they are ready to release they sit on it for a while. Build the hype and hopefully flood the world with quality T.V ads & promotions all over. Besides GT5 will have an appeal to a broader group of gamers and even non traditional gamers. Men and even women dig cars and with the quality and realism that GT5 will bring it will hopefully reach new users all over the world.
Hopefully it will get dad to buy that PS3 for his son, seeing that it will no longer be a waste in his eyes. Cause he gets to play too and also drive all the cars he wants... I mean hey the wives might even buy for their husbands just to get them to shut up....
Let's hope I'm right and that is actually what they are planning.
Just on the side even if it does go to the Xbox which I think will never happen it will only be able to run on 720p as that is the Xbox's maximum resolution(Pls correct me if I'm wrong). The PS3 will run at full 1080p (Once again correct me if I'm wrong). But if that is all so which one will you buy????
PS3.....Hands down.

That statement doesn't sound too promising. I didn't mind waiting all of last year when there were rumors of the game shipping early this year (or whatever it was), but I hope there is a solidified release date coming soon because this is getting crazy!.. wooh.. that was a long sentence. =)

I'm thinking that they mean that they don't want to put it out at the same time as a bunch of other games.
Maybe something like what happened around last October when so many good PS3 titles came out around the same time, that some might've took away some higher sales numbers in the short-term, from others out then too.
