World At War Map Pack 1 Tops One Million Downloads
Treyarch really stepped it up with Call of Duty: World at War last year, and the fans have been happy ever since. And, as they often say, the proof is in the pudding...or in this case, the numbers.
According to GamersDigest, Activision has announced that there have been over 1 million downloads of the World at War Map Pack 1, and it managed to reach this impressively lofty plateau in only its first weekend of availability! This pack contains four new maps (Nightfire, Station, Knee Deep and Verruckt) and if you haven't yet had the pleasure, you can pick it up on the PlayStation Network for $9.99, or on the Xbox Live Marketplace for 800 Microsoft Points. Said Treyarch Studio lead Mark Lamia:
"I'm proud that the team at Treyarch delivered an experience that so many people are enjoying. We're excited that the success of Call of Duty: World at War Map Pack 1 will continue to drive the popularity of the games Nazi Zombie mode, competitive multiplayer and chart-breaking success online."
There's no doubt that Treyarch produced a winner last year, and although some will say it didn't quite leap over the very high bar set by Infinity Ward's Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, most will admit that World at War could very well be the best WWII shooter ever. At the very least, there are already over a million people who enjoy the experience enough to fork over a little more cash. Hey, it'll get you more gameplay, so what's the problem?

Only thing I wish though.. I wish they made the zombie mode last longer. Granted I only play with my RL friends on XBL but you'd think they could tone it down a bit for only 2-3 people, mainly 2. My friends and I always make it to level 12 or so and then we die. And it only takes like what? 20 minutes to get to level 12? Kinda frustrating but still lots of fun nonetheless. =)

Now, before either of you get your drawers in a bunch, listen to me, and listen good. Neither Arnold nor Ben can afford for knuckleheads to come here bragging about games, DLC, or anything else acquired by illegal means. "Shared" DLC means stolen DLC, so if you really want to participate in that sort of thing, don't talk about it here. Consider yourself warned...

I agree, I'll buy CODMW2 DLC mappacks as well. The new zombie map is fun, wish we always had more zombie mappacks. I hope the developers keep pushing the zombie idea and expand it to multiplayer maps, increase it from max 4 players to like 8 or more. The whole idea could be a separate game itself and would get so many sales...
