AMC's Mad Men To Become A Game?
Yeah, this is just one of those times where we respond to the idea with, "haha...what?"
It seems that Superannuation has learned that movie studio Lionsgate has filed a trademark registration for AMC's hit TV drama, "Mad Men," which "cites possible interest in a computer game." Apparently, the registration also considers a comic book, but that seems slightly less absurd than a video game adaptation of the popular show. Look, we all have the same question: how do you turn that into game? What do you do, play beat the clock to secure massive advertising deals and then stealthily bang the secretary in a closet so nobody notices? And what might the gameplay controls be like? "Press X to say this. Press Square to say...that." Look, we all know that just about every other entertainment industry on earth wants to tap the honeypot that is the thriving games industry, but this is stretching it. Some will say there are limitless possibilities where interactive entertainment is concerned, and while that may be true, people must still want to interact with it. It has to be interesting. It has to be fun.
Our suggestion? Just watch the show. If they really do turn it into a video game, we'll just have to shake our heads in complete and utter consternation.
