Prototype Receives Release Date
Although April is shaping up to be a slow month, we're definitely looking forward to June. There are several promising titles slated for the sixth month of the year - including Volition's Red Faction: Guerilla and Sucker Punch's Infamous - and now, another one is on the list.
Evidently, according to Digital Something, it's Prototype, a title that got stuck on the back burner for a while but finally has emerged with a concrete release date. It's slated to launch in Europe on June 5 and in North America on June 9, and if you're unfamiliar with the concept, you can always check out our early preview through that link. We've also compiled several videos over the past year or so, so make sure to check out the PS3 Videos section of the site. If you've already done so, you can easily spot this game's potential, and hopefully, Radical Entertainment's intense action extravaganza will be well worth the wait. We don't know about you, but we love the idea of playing as a nigh-on immune protagonist with all sorts of freakishly powerful abilities. Too many main characters these days are reluctant anti-heroes of some sort (with certain exceptions, like Dante from Devil May Cry) and they're both cliched and tired. In Prototype, you are going to tear everything up, and that's that. Provided the developers don't skimp on the details and provide us with a solid gameplay mechanic, we can't wait to try it.
The only problem is that it sounds like it'll go head-to-head with Infamous, and the two games seem remarkably similar. If one is better than the other, than the sales of the loser may be terrible... But you never know; both might rock the house.

Anyway, I'll be pre-ordering inFamous and hoping this is worth picking up later in the summer.
And isn't the new Batman game coming out in June too? Going to be a busy summer.

Prototype looks like more of a sandbox game - kind of destroy everything in sight and then do it again. Infamous appears from the information I have read to be more story driven, plus your powers change based on your decisions, you can be good or bad, and it changes you. Nice.

The openwolrd/sandbox of prototype reminds me of Spiderman 2 openworldness, its so big yet it looked (and played) so boring. The physics also looked horrid in the tp ten reasons video.
Ah crap, now im sounding like ultimadream ( just kidding man, don't kill me )

can't wait to see which is best, because they look quite good and have gathered some hype.
