PS3 News: inFamous Will Not Release in June. But instead...
Here's some news that's going to make everyone happy...inFamous will not be released in June. Don't cry just yet - relax and let me finish before you break down. It's actually going to hit May 26th - that's ahead of schedule! Sucker Punch is, apparently, approaching the very end of development, and Sony has now pegged the game for its late-May release. To commemorate the announcement, Sony has also revealed pre-order incentives, beginning today at various retailers. GameStop will provide you with access to Gigawatt Blades (pictured to the right), a super power that supercharge the strength of Cole's arms, but their strength will come with the price of draining your powers if you use them too much. At Amazon.com, you'll be given a limited edition inFamous costume for your Home character to look like a reaper. And through Best Buy/GameCrazy, you'll be given a demo with every pre-order starting May 7th.
Sony has also stated that the PlayStation Network demo will be made available for all on May 21st, and that there are still some more surprises to be announced over the next few weeks. We've just recently gotten our playable copy of the game, so stay tuned for hands-on details coming soon!

I mean looking at the gameplay videos, I see a big world which you can explore, I see many diverse enemies, I see some intense moments in boss battles, but I barely see any different ways to approach enemies. I mean yea..you could go this way to attack them or that way to attack them. But why is it that we can only pretty much shoot electric beams and such from out hands? Can't we have other abilities besides the regular shooting beams from our hands?
The game's graphics look great, the voice actor isn't too bad either.
I'm feeling a 7/10 for this game. But I hope I'm dead wrong and it turns out to be stellar.
Just that I'm feeling a bit nervous of how it will turn out. Again... I wish the best for it.

you can shoot electricity out your hands, throw an electric grenade... you can use your electric powers to help you hover thru the air, you can do some type of electric energy push which throws objects or people back... and im sure there's tons of other things we havn't seen yet.

The game looks cool overall, but every time I see footage of the game (even the most recent), it looks not too smooth. I think there's a reason the last big 'trailer' for it is in slow motion. So unless they've done some major optimizing the past few weeks on that, I'm a little weary it might seem rushed (to beat PROTOTYPE out by a week or two?) to critics. At least I don't notice all the glitchy popping in and out of various background objects and bad collision detection the footage of ~6 mos. ago had.
Here's hoping for a kick-ass games, though! Sucker Punch is in my town, after all!

Game will be AMAZING. Early hands-on already stated how tight the controls are and satisfying the combat. Dont worry about variety, 100 missions scattered across a whole city will be enough. Story sounds promising, Karma system, bad and good guy (doubling the play time). Wow, this game will be worth every penny. Deducting the -0.5 cause it is a ps3 exclusive, my score prediction is 8.5-9.
Prototype on the other hand after adding up 0.5 because is multiplat, will be around 7.5.

I've seen some things that intrigue me; the free-run/climb most everything parts looks like a blast, I like the idea of recharging by draining power sources around town, and some of the electrical powers look like fun (the bullet shield looked like something outta the Matrix.)
But, like some have said before, earlier gameplay vids looked kinda stale when the main character was engaging in battle. Especially that section in a tunnel. Maybe it was just the guy playing, but all he did was run left and right while constantly firing little bolts that didn't pack any punch at all, interspersed with the "force push" that would knock vehicles out of the way.
I'm have an overall positive feeling towards the game, but I just hope the combat is more varied. I'm a fan of Sucker Punch, so I'm hoping there's a good story to follow it up with as well. Dunno, maybe if they would release the demo sooner I could come to the conclusion that this is a worthwhile purchase and maybe even pre-order.
It's always nice when my PS3 releases another exclusive, and I hope my misgivings are proved to be unfounded so I can pick this up and enjoy running around a city blowing up the elderly. lol, yes, I enjoy my bad karma ;)

And what I'm hearing on that Gamestop "exclusive" power it that it is just a early access code. As in you can get the power in the game, but its just a very high level power. The code just gives it to you earlier then you would normally get it. I hope that is true as well.

It's like pre-ordering Ratchet & Clank for special baby R.Y.N.O. (but just not as strong).
Or pre-ordering FFVII for a early Meteor Rain or Omni Slash (just not as omni) LOL.
