Rockstar Showed Off Red Dead Redemption, Not GTAV?
While we'd certainly love to think that Rockstar was showing off Grand Theft Auto V at the Game Informer offices, we have to remember that this developer does make other games.
Like the upcoming Red Dead Redemption, for instance. Thanks to a reader tip, we've stumbled upon the game's official website, which just recently launched. The sequel to last generation's Red Dead Revolver, RDR seeks to fix a few of the kinks gamers encountered in the original. We've got several screenshots and a simple description, which is as follows:
"At the turn of the 20th century, when the chaotic Badlands began to give way to the expanding reach of government and the spread of the Industrial Age, a former outlaw, John Marston, is sent across the American frontier to help bring the rule of law."
Due to the fact that Rockstar has repeatedly denied any rumors of a GTAV unveiling any time soon, it seems more likely that Red Dead Redemption is the game Game Informer saw. And although we loves us some GTA, we do have high expectations for RDR. The first game wasn't too bad at all, and the Wild West always seemed like the perfect setting for a video game. It's just too bad that we haven't had a really stellar shooter based in that environment, and if Rockstar can make this one worthy, it'll be much appreciated. Anyway, stay tuned for more on this promising sequel, and we'll soon find out of it was indeed the game Rockstar brought to GI.

I think it was a 3rd person shoot 'em up. I remember a lot of blood and a lot of bullet. But I think it was incredibly short.
If R* adds more depth to Red Dead Redemption then we should have a very good game.

Im pretty sure I was the reader who tipped Ben but didnt sign the email with my username...
I've been following this game for a couple of years 'cause I originally heard of it as being one of the games shown behind closed doors at at one of those Sony invitational-only events at an E3 where everyone is under a gag-order but somehow the trailer leaked and its on youtube if you want to check it out (back in 06 I think).
Apparently this game was a PS3 exclusive and some of those screenshots from look like they are from the trailer which is a few years old now so the final product should be great.
I have high hopes for this one - I imagine it will be very similar to GTAIV as it is using the Rage engine, but I think the western setting and a good story could make this an exceptional game to remember.

However, I liked the freedom of gun better. Playing as a Native American, using stealth and the hunting side missions were also a plus.
