Free Championship Mode For Street Fighter IV Revealed
If you've been playing Street Fighter IV almost nonstop since it first arrived in February, you may call yourself "hardcore." And if so, we've got some good news for you.
Completely free of charge, Capcom will be tossing something interesting into a new SFIV update: according to Electronic Theatre, Championship Mode is on the way; it'll allow players to compete in tournaments and even watch replays of the best tournament battles. This Mode will be included in an update for both the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions of the game, and it'll go live on April 24. Once you have it, you'll be able to "compete in five different grades of tournaments, creating the right challenge for players of every skill level." With every win you tally, you'll score some valuable Grade Points (GP) and with higher GP totals comes access to more prestigious tournaments. If you win the whole damn tournament, that'll get you Championship Points (CP); you'll get more or less depending on the average GP total of your competitors. But if you get booted out, you can always enable Replay Mode, which lets you watch the best of the best duke it out. You can even rate the match ("awesome" and "funny" will be options) if you wish.
So when the end of next week rolls around, be sure to download this new update and take advantage of Championship Mode. For those of you who have desired stiffer competition lately, it's a can't-miss.
