SCEA: GoWIII Collectors May Not Include GoW Remakes
A lot of you freaked right out when you learned that the first two God of War titles might be included on the Blu-Ray disc for the God of War III Collectors Edition. But let's not get ahead of ourselves.
As Kotaku reports, Sony isn't about to confirm anything and reminds everyone that this was just a survey. The problem is, the current PlayStation 3 units don't feature backwards compatibility for PS2 software so that would obviously cause a problem. Said an SCEA rep:
"It is simply a marketing survey. The goal of it is to do focus group testing. We're just trying to find out what would resonate with the God of War community. If that was the number one requested thing, that would be something they would need to see if that was most technically feasible."
They're not ruling anything out, mind you, but just because it's hotly requested doesn't necessarily mean it's going to happen. The rep went on to say they can "put more content" on a Blu-Ray disc so that would help, but again, they'd have to work through a variety of potential technical issues before this could become feasible. If the fans want it badly enough, it could still happen...Sony just doesn't want you to accept it as inevitable fact.
For our part, this is what we care most about: we want GoWIII to rule. That's it.

GOWI: $50
GOWII: $50
GOWIII: $60
Plus other extras I figure that since time has passed since the releases of the original two, they would only charge about $120 at the most...also they would probably have a team polish up the graphics on the first two anyway if this where to happen...

Can't wait to get all 3. I really have to live the PS2 generation which I missed out on...due to...being young and not understanding what great games were.

Cause I by no means really ever see the functional purpose for a collectors edition of any game but this would just be too good an offer to pass up...
