Sacred 2: Fallen Angel Emerges With May 12 Date
Those of you waiting for a decent hack 'n slash action/RPG that would remind you of Champions of Norrath were likely disappointed when Sacred 2: Fallen Angel didn't hit store shelves on March 24.
For some reason, it missed that release date and since then, has kinda dropped off the radar. But GameSpot has confirmed that the new release date is May 12, and this time, we shouldn't have to suffer through any more delays. We do, however, have some potentially bad news: the publisher told GameSpot that the PlayStation 3 version of the game wasn't "finished yet," but it's still on track to launch alongside the 360 version on the aforementioned date. ...well, that's nice, but why are they behind on the PS3 version? That's almost never a good sign, but we'd like to hope that both versions will be almost identical (as most all third-party multiplatform titles are these days). We'll just cross our fingers regarding this subject, but getting back to the launch date, European gamers will have to wait until June to play it on either the PS3 or 360. The game's European distributor, Deep Silver, said it will release on June 5. We're hoping it'll be worth the wait and in the meantime, feel free to check around for more info; we've got videos and screenshots and all that good stuff. And yes, there's plenty of gameplay footage.
We really miss the good ol' days of CoN and Baldurs Gate: Dark Alliance, which is why we're so excited for Sacred 2. We're not expecting a Game of the Year blockbuster, but we'd love some straight-up action/RPG entertainment.
