Advent Children With FFXIII Demo Sells Hot

Square has been milking Final Fantasy VII for what seems like an eternity now...well, okay, it's been about four years, ever since the DVD release of Advent Children in 2005. And after Dirge of Cerberus, Crisis Core, Blu-Ray Advent Children, and other FFVII related stuff, Square-Enix still has more to release. As you may know, there are two versions of the Blu-Ray Advent Children release, one with just the movie, and another with a demo of Final Fantasy XIII.

Well, in total, 100k copies were sold on the first day of release. But 70k of those were made up of the FFXIII bundle, leaving sales of 30k for the stand-alone Blu-Ray. Moreover, the demo bundled Blu-Ray package also cost 1000 yen more (about $10), but it's evident that gamers didn't care about paying extra for the demo and it's also entirely possible that a vast majority bought the Blu-Ray bundle specifically for the demo, and not Advent Children.

Hey, whatever the case may be, Square-Enix made the right move by offering a demo, even if it is one that demonstrates the game in an early and unflattering light. And hell, there's still another Advent Children release scheduled for June, called Advent Children Complete. Following that, all that'd be left is to give us our Final Fantasy VII remake!

In the end that's all that matters. If you give the fans a taste of what they want, eventually they'll want to buy the cake if you catch my drift. Regardless, the bundle with demo idea was a good one. As for what we can expect in the future Final Fantasy-wise, keep your hopes up and fingers crossed. They ALMOST never disappoint.

I thought Zone of The Enders was a half decent game, i didnt buy it just for the demo, infact i played the MGS2 demo first through a magazine demo. I was tempted to order it online, but after watching the demo on youtube, i'm satisfied that SE are going to deliver so now i dont think i need to, though when FFVII:ACC is eventually released in the UK i do intedn on buying it.

I saw the video of the demo being played. I wouldn't say it was in an "unflattering light"; the graphics are really good. I'm personally wondering just how awesome the final product is going to be if that wasn't the finished product.

Off Topic @WorldEndsWithMe wassup dude my psn is downed, my sister lost my router startup disk damn eventually I will be back on I don't know when though. I think maybe Sony and SE will be anouning ffxiii demo at e3. Damn my internet will be getting shut off this is BS.

Sorry to hear that dude, good luck getting back on track. LOL somebody thumbs downed you! Go to the maker of the routers website for support, they typically have the proggy already for download.

All I have to say is that by the weeks end I will be playing this Awesome demo for myself, and seeing how it is. Then I will watch the movie, yes I enjoyed the movie, don't care what others think.

A remake is pretty much all that's left within the compilation. Square enix, if you do remake the game, keep it a worldwide sony exclusive please.

After playing the demo i gotta say i have some restored faith in SE. just wish i could understand Japanese and that it was the full game-_-

Also first time watching Advent Children and boy did it suck

Finally received my shipping confirmation for the FFVII:AC Complete! I should receive my copy in a couple days! I'm so excited!

Btw - I've heard that there are no English dubbing or sub-title options for the bluray. Looks like I'm going to have to work on my Japanese.

Dude for the last time the movie itself is dubbed. This was stated way way back. Go to play-asia.com and look for yourself. Also the movie does not suck that bad. I know everyone is entitled to their opinion, but some people can be so uptight. Spirits Within was bad, this movie more than makes up for it, if you haven't played FF7 then you have no right to make an opinion as this movie was made for those fans. So cram it will you.
