Sony's "Electrifying Announcement" Involves New PS3 Exclusive?

Oh, these teasers. They get the blood flowing and the mind working, but we sometimes have to catch ourselves before we trip over the often unseen boundary into the realm of the absurd and unrealistic.

But that doesn't mean we can't theorize, postulate and hypothesize before we reach that line. First, let's check the evidence: visit the official US PlayStation site, and you will see it plain as day. In between two images of inFamous and Uncharted 2: Among Thieves, there is the information that we should prepare ourselves for an "electrifying announcement" on April 27. That's only a few short days away and everyone is already beginning to toss around ideas and suggestions. If we only saw Sucker Punch's upcoming title, we'd have to assume the announcement would be related to that game; after all, the player will use electricity to his advantage. But what's Uncharted 2 doing in there? How are those two related? As far as we can tell, the only relation is that both are PlayStation 3 exclusives, which, of course, leads us to believe that the impending announcement involves another hot exclusive for Sony's console. We've been waiting on any number of them, including the likes of Team ICO's project, Twisted Metal, and Kingdom Hearts III (none of which have been officially announced). But what else might it be? Could they be talking about a price cut? Or even two price cuts? $50 to celebrate the launch of inFamous in June and another $50 for the release of Among Thieves later...?

Well, we're certain everyone has their own idea but thankfully, we'll know the truth before long. Keep your fingers crossed for that exclusive! By the way, one other relation between the two aforementioned games is that both are set to release this year...

I was thinking maybe announcing that Uncharted 2 will also get its release date bumped... including a demo.

But now that I think about it more, I think you're probably right on the money with this one. Kudos!

Ive read all the comments and this is the best and most believable suggestion.
It has to be something that connects the two games together and all the talk of an impending U2 demo recently suggests that this scenario is plausible.
It would boost inFamous sales for sure, it probably the least known of all the PS3 exclusives in my opinion.

I think it's going to be the Silver PS3 and controller. Metallic colored units, metal is a good conductor, and if you bundle Infamous in special offer then you have an announcement that is Electrifying.

3D-gaming. Sony said last year that they will be bringing 3D (the kind that jumps out of your tv) on to their PS3-platform in 2009, haven't heard anything about it since.

PS3 cut down to $199! PSP2 to be released with 2 knobs! Free juice! j/k...but in all seriousness I would rather not try and figure out what this big thing is going to be, but hopefully it is something that we've all been looking forward to.

It might be GoWIII release date and then again it might be some new exclusive that comes out of left field. Whatever it is here's to it being all sorts of awesome.

Perhaps.....or perhaps it'll be clarified as a timed exclusive, and the NA release will coincide with teh Japan release on PS3 with 360 to follow 6 months (or so) later....

I'm not betting the house on a price cut, even though I believe it would double or even triple PS3 sales in the USA at least. I's great to get new exsclusive, but exsclusives won't matter if we don't have sales of the PS3 to put them in....
