Aliens vs. Predator Details Discovered
Ah, remember the good ol' days of the Jaguar? ...okay, so the days for Atari's ill-fated console weren't all "good," but who can forget playing Alien vs. Predator at about 2 a.m. with all the lights off?
Since that time, we've had several new iterations in the long-running series, and the next is scheduled to arrive some time next year. It's Rebellion's Aliens vs. Predator, and European gaming site Gamefront has discovered some new details. First of all, you will have the option to fight as either Alien, Predator or human Marine (something we've done before). Secondly and not surprisingly, each of these classes will have "specific skills and types of attack," and thirdly, the story apparently takes place 30 years after the movie "Aliens." The Aliens can be "played anywhere" and of course, they've got that deadly acid, while the Predator has his repertoire of futuristic and brutal weapons, including the infrared gun on his shoulder and the blades on his hands. The Marine gets a Pulse Rifle and grenades (to start), and must battle both foreign lifeforms in the game, so it might prove to be the most challenging class. We're certainly hoping for a decent balance, though. This is one game that has immense potential based on the premise and concept alone, and provided Rebellion brings us a solid gameplay mechanic and an appropriately freaky atmosphere, we should get a worthy action title.
Aliens vs. Predator is set to release for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in 2010 and we'll have more information for you as it becomes available.

Also mention of a possible Dark Obi-Wan storyline. Could be interesting.
And Tie-Fighter still rates as my highest Star Wars game. :)
