Killzone 2 Japanese Launch: Around 20,000 Sold
Historically, FPSs simply don't fare well in Japan but recent evidence has hinted at a definite shift in Eastern gaming tastes. Take Guerilla's Killzone 2, for example.
According to PS3Center, the stellar shooter sold about 20,000 copies on its first day of availability in the Land of the Rising Sun, which means it's currently on track to outsell the last big FPS, Resistance 2. That number may not be all that impressive, but it's significant for Japan and furthermore, some retailers are apparently reporting they're already sold out of the game. Of course, Killzone 2 didn't top the charts as Monster Hunter G for the Wii sold 92,000 copies, but the PlayStation is enjoying a very big week. After outstripping the Wii yet again - due in part to the release of "Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children" - more and more Japanese gamers are definitely starting to notice the PS3. The question is whether or not something like KZ2 will be an extended success throughout 2009; based on what we've seen in the past year, there's a darn good chance the title should do relatively well. Japanese developers have been saying for quite some time now they need to expand Westward, so it should stand to reason that gaming tastes amongst the public will alter a bit.
Thus far, we say Killzone 2 is the best game of 2009 so it would behoove our fellow gamers across the Pacific to partake of this shooter's awesome quality. It's for everyone to enjoy!

"Japs" isn't really a respectful way to refer to the Japanese; it makes you sound like a WWII G.I.
You should really use "Nips" (JUST KIDDING).
I'm no believer in political correctness (see preceding joke), but there's no point in being offensive unless that's your intent.
