Amazon Restocks On Metal Gear Solid 4 PlayStation 3 Bundle

It was one of the most sought-after bundle deals of the generation when it launched alongside the spectacular game in June of last year. Bet you never thought you'd see it again, huh...?

So maybe you didn't have the time or money to make a play for this awesome Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots 80GB PlayStation 3 bundle package, or maybe you had the opportunity but inexplicably passed it up. You've been berating yourself ever since...well, stop berating and start spending: Amazon.com has restocked and you once again have a chance to snag this bundle. The site still says the item is in great demand and they have a limited number in stock, which means you shouldn't waste too much time hemming and hawing this time around. While it isn't exactly a money-saving deal like the one GameStop offers, it's still great if you don't yet own a PS3. Few will argue if we say that MGS4 is the best game on that system (and indeed, the best game of the generation thus far), and it's basically a law that you'd have to buy the title if you bought a PS3. Oh yes...it's a law. We just made it up; it's passing through Congress even as we speak.

So anyway, if you've got the cash and the motivation, strike while the iron's hot. We really didn't expect this bundle to make a second appearance anywhere, but hey, we're definitely not complaining.

never picked up mgs4... played the demo's.. cant say im not missing out on a gem... but with my currently owning a 80gb with backwards-compatibility, can't say i'd wanna pick this bundle up... unless i get some extra money 4 a 2nd unit..

I like MGS4 but i preffered the previous 3, i didnt like the controls system, the over the shoulder view turned it into every other 'action'game this gen, i love MGS22s controls, infact im going to play it right now.

I never did played MGS4 and I do want another ps3.I am not sure though if this ps3 is the same as my motorstorm bundle one.

I totally agree with Scarecrow, some of my friends with Xboxs say that the story in MGS4 is too confusing and the game's too hard.

Obviously they're lacking in intelligence. They have an Xbox! (I'm such a dork...)

i really wish i had the money for another game right now

i wish my ps3 wasnt sitting in a box ready to ship to sony in my living room right now but my parents are too lazy to go get a certified cheque from the bank

I want to play my GHMetallica... its sitting on my bed, taunting me.

Would this bundle be backwards compatible? That would prove a better selling point than MGS4.

Backwards compatibility is important. I still play some of my PS2 games. When I finally had the resources to get a PS3, I hunted around until I found a backwards compatible one. I ended up with a used 60 gig for $300.

I was one of those clowns who thought MGS couldn't be as good as so many were saying. I know I know ... sad but true. After finally buying (much in part to this site) and playing MGS4 I was genuinely blown away. I was amazed at what a game could be.

Therefore I declare that this bundle is epic. No question. It's just kinda too bad you have to have a PS3 and have played MGS4 to know it.

The MGS4 bundle was a great deal before when it launched, they need to readjust the price now. At that time, the regular ps3 was 40 gigs with no dualshock controllers at $400. Now all PS3's are 80 gigs. On top of that, MGS4 had a price drop to $40 now. The MGS4 bundle isn't worth that $499 anymore. You are practically paying the extra money for B/C. They should lower the price of the bundle to $450.

this a good PS3 bundle with the MGS3 game and the new dualshock 3(at that time it ways just released) I manage to get the last one a couple of months ago from a best buy store and and I have to say MGS4 is the best game ever.

Does this mean Sony is still building these systems or did somebody at Amazon stumble across these in a back shed?

If Sony is still building this system, then there is still hope for PS2 software emulation in the next E3 system.

Don't forget about the card readers and xtra usb ports. I think that alone makes it worth more than the 160 gig. Not to mention the b/c.
It's the same bundle I own.

I actually hunted for a 60 gig just for the backwards compatibility. I don't use the card readers, but the extra USB hubs are great. I'll be updating the HDD to a 320 or 500 gig when I have the money for it.
