Uncharted 2: More Details, Fan Questions Answered
Despite all the new multiplayer info that just recently rolled our way, we know a lot of you still have many questions concerning Naughty Dog's impending sequel, Uncharted 2: Among Thieves. Well, Chris Morell of the PlayStation blog had a chat with Lead Game Designer Neil Druckmann, and the interview video is quite enlightening.
First up was the question regarding the environments: will we still get some lush jungle/forest environments like we had in the original, or will it be more "urban and snowy" environments? Well, Druckmann quite simply replied that we'll get a diverse array of backdrops, and that includes everything you've seen before...and more. Then they get into the multiplayer aspects, and although you have most of the info, Druckmann tosses in a few more details. For instance, in co-op mode, one player will play as Drake and another as Chloe. He talks more about how the mode will work, too, so don't miss it. As far as the storyline is concerned, while we've heard the developers will focus more on the plot and characters, they won't sacrifice any of that humor and charm that we loved in Drake's Fortune. We were also interested to hear more about the stealth mechanic and something called "traversal gunplay," along with the free-climbing mechanic that sounds mighty interesting (and something we can't wait to try). The last note of interest for our part is the linear question; the original was quite linear, so will the sequel have side-quests and things like that? Well, no, but Druckmann says they're opening it up so you can make choices in how you approach certain obstacles.
Uncharted 2 is gonna win Game of the Year if certain other massive titles don't make it in 2009. We've said it before and we'll just keep saying it...'cuz it's true.

That said, Sony ads campaign outside the interweb is pretty poor, even blockbuster multiplat titles look like they are exclusive on the competing console.

Ben, you're really pushing this GOTY thing. Was what you've seen really THAT good? There are a lotta games scheduled for this year across all platforms. Considering the Halo bias will show back up as soon as that Halo: Recon or OSDT drops, the new Modern Warfare, and plus all those multiplatforms...Is Uncharted pwning all of em?

Where do you get your info regarding Uncharted: Drakes Fortune`s sales? I`m admiting I don`t have a clue which site is best to see game sales chartz. But I`m using vgchartz.com now, and there it says that Uncharted have sold 2.4 mill, not 4. I`m not bashing you, just curious what site you are using.
And yeah, I`m new her. Been visiting this site for a while now, and I`m loving every second of it. Just love it...fantastic site :)

I doubt it'll get GoTY with MW2 coming out. Not saying that I think it's better, I'm just saying there's WAY more people out there who like CoD than there are who even know about Uncharted.
Who hands out the official GoTY award anyway?
