inFamous Already Spotted At Retailers
We hope you enjoyed reading our very recent hands-on preview of Sucker Punch's upcoming action extravaganza, inFamous. If it psyched you up and you just can't wait for May 26, you might want to hit up a few retailers nearby, just to see if...
As most gamers know, some retail chains tend to break street dates - and evidently get away with it - as hotly anticipated games will hit stores shelves at places like Target and Wal-Mart a week (or more) before the assigned launch date. Well, some happy consumers have been lucky enough to find inFamous at various places, and for some visual evidence visit the NeoGAF forums. There are more "hey, I've got inFamous!" claims all around the Internet, so if you've got the time and are willing to take the chance, maybe you'll want to wander around and see if a few unknowing (or uncaring) retailers have already put the game out for sale. You may as well ignore GameStop, though; they almost never break street dates, primarily because the penalties are so severe. Apparently, other retailers don't have to suffer from similar penalties so perhaps you can benefit from that arrogance. Just think: if you can pick it up now, you'll have time to zip through it and be ready for the next round of potentially great games, in Red Faction: Guerilla and Prototype in June!
Arguably, the last huge release was Resident Evil 5 and we've been waiting for another blockbuster ever since. Well, there's no doubt that inFamous is it, so what's wrong with getting it a little early?

inFamous is like a shooter except that you're using lightning instead of gun.
The thing that's new is that there's sandbox element in it which I think is cool.
Whether the critics hate this game or not, I'm buying this baby when the time comes for me.

Obviously John, you must have never worked Retail, because breaking Street Date hurts any store that does it. Also, for Targets defense, I hate the place, worked there, their computers will not allow the sale of Street Dated material, no matter if you see it on the shelves. What that obviously means is that the back room crew is moronic, and put it out without reading what the label says on the box, happened every time when I worked there.
