Fallout 3 PS3 May Finally Receive DLC
Fallout 3 is one of the best RPGs available this generation, but if you own the PlayStation 3 version, you haven't been happy with the lack of downloadable content.
Microsoft struck a deal with Bethesda to keep the first three extra content packs exclusive to the Xbox 360 (as if that's any gigantic surprise), which means that bonus packs that expand the gameplay - like the Broken Steel expansion - are only available for the 360 version of the game. But as Gamer.Blorge points out, the timed exclusive agreement between Bethesda and MS expires on May 5 and furthermore, retailers are advertising a new DLC bundle entitled "Broken Steel & Point Look." Now, if we're counting correctly, "Broken Steel" was the third piece of DLC for the game, which must mean that the second part of that pack, "Point Look," or "Point Lookout," would be the fourth...and the exclusive agreement was for the first three DLC packs. If one combines these two pieces of information together, might it be safe to assume that the PS3 version of Fallout 3 will finally receive some much-appreciated - albeit very late - extra content? Of course, you can always put over a hundred hours into the standalone game all by its lonesome, but the die-hard fanatics are always looking for more ways to elongate the excellent role-playing experience.
Almost nothing is exclusive this generation, especially when it comes to third-party productions. There may be a few timed exclusivity deals here and there, but all such deals have to expire at some point...right?

If I only had my PS3 to play Fallout on, I would of just said f*** Bethesda and be done with it... no sense in rewarding them my hard earned money for coming so late to the PS3 party. I'm of the mind that when late DLC arrives and people gobble it up, it's telling developers that its OK to essentially favor one platform over the other because sales will still work out for them in the end. I say release DLC at the same time or just don't release it at all.
