Lost Planet 2 PS3 Possible After All?
Okay, we're getting a little tired of these stories, even though we know it qualifies as news that will appeal to some PlayStation 3 owners.
It's the growing saga surrounding a possible PS3 version of Lost Planet 2. When Capcom's Keiji Inafune first dropped the hint that it was coming, he said it would be released for the PS3 and 360 in 2009. But when the official announcement came, there was no mention of the PS3 and when pressed, Capcom vice-president Christian Svensson would only say the situation is "complicated" and "confusing." This doesn't really help and to add more fuel to the fire, Capcom has just released the list of games they plan to bring to E3. You will notice the glaring inclusion of the word "currently" next to Lost Planet 2; no other game on that list carries such a clarification or justification or whatever. Now, recent articles we've posted on this site have revealed the pulse of the readers: they really don't seem to care if Lost Planet 2 comes to the PS3 or not; it may be due to the fact that the original took so long to release on Sony's machine. Hence, sales were low - a good reason for Capcom's reluctance - and interest in a sequel is likely low as well.
But anyway, we'll be keeping an eye on things. At this point, it may only be a matter of time before Lost Planet 2 shows up on the PS3, but, well...how many people care?

I believe that developers has gotten to a point where they can port a Xbox 360 game to PS3 with no quality losts now. Either that or multi-platform games do not require the extra difference in power to make the game work. There are no lost for PS3 fans.

The first game was fun and entertaining, and solidly produced. None of that "massive slowdown, it looks horrible" crap people like to peddle. It wasn't a masterpiece, but most games aren't, anyway. Bring it to the PS3, and please the fans.
In fact, I was just playing it online today, after beating it nearly a year ago. It's still fun! And people are playing it and having a good time.
Whiners piss off.

I thought the game was great fun. Never played online, but still enjoyed the single-player campaign alot.
I'm positive LP2 will come to the PS3 at some point. I'm not overly concerned, because there are too many great titles to hold me over well into next year, so no worries...

Doubt that they'll change a great deal for the second game-yeah it looks a lot batter but it isn't fabulous looking and with all the exclusives we have for PS3 in the coming months how much interest will there be for LP2? After a bad port first time out I'm not guessing much.

I liked LP1, even though everyone bashes on it. Seriously, if you didn't like the game that's okay. This was one of the better mecha games out there, considering that you could exit the mech too and play as a foot soldier. The T-Energy was alright, it forced players to continually progress forward, rather than just di** around. The controls in the game were alright, but could have used a little work.
I'll look forward to this if it comes to PS3.
Just curious... Did people not like this game because the main character was Asian? But everyone is just secretly keeping it themselves?
