Yakuza 4 Already In Development
Wow, don't get so far ahead of yourselves, Sega. Shouldn't you concentrate on localizing Yakuza 3 for other regions before you dive into a whole new game?
Well, apparently not. And due to the franchise's immense success in Japan, we really can't blame them. But it's still a little frustrating to learn that according to PS3Center, the latest edition of the weekly Famitsu magazine shows that a new Yakuza entry is currently in development. All we know is that it's for the PS3 - duh - and it appears to be a prequel, as a younger version of the series hero, Kazuma Kiryu, seems to be pictured. If you didn't know, Yakuza 3 launched in Japan back in February and managed to bring down some high review scores and impressive sales numbers. In fact, it's quite logical to assume that the 300,000 copies the title sold in its first week contributed to the recent PS3 hardware sales rise in Japan. Still, the U.S. and European/PAL gamers are waiting around for the game and we could be waiting a while; the past two installments in the series took nearly a year to break the Japanese border. Oh come on, PS3 owners will reward you, Sega! Get it over here! It'd be a great addition to the library.
But sadly, it seems we'll soon be tortured with more looks at Yakuza 4 long before we ever see Yakuza 3 in this country. We so sad. :(
