Wheelman Movie Confirmed, Diesel Takes Leading Role
Yeah, we know what you're going to say: "oh, big surprise."
As some of you have already found out, Wheelman is a relatively entertaining game, filled with plenty of diverse action and crowd-pleasing stunts and explosions. Therefore, it wouldn't be shocking in the least to learn that Vin Diesel will also star in a big screen adaptation of the game, huh? Well, according to BigDownload and Variety, the film version will feature the action movie star, and John Singleton has signed on to handle directorial duties for the project. The movie is simply called, "The Wheelman," and it already has a script that is being put into production at Paramount. We only have a baseline detail of the story; that it will "focus on an expert driver (Diesel) who comes out of retirement to protect a woman from his past." If you're wondering about Singleton, he directed 2 Fast 2 Furious, which is the sequel that Diesel decided not to participate in. Well, he'll get his chance to work with Singleton this time, and here's hoping the movie will be just as entertaining as the game. We're not expecting anything Oscar-worthy here; just give us something fun and somewhat stimulating.
The worlds of gaming and movies continue to cross paths at a record pace; it's like every week we're telling you about yet another film that gets its inspiration from a video game. ...haven't decided yet if this is a good thing.

Well, I guess it could be worse. Like 50 cent making a movie based on "Blood on the Sand". *shivers*
