What To Expect From GoWIII At E3

As you might expect, Sony is breaking out the big guns for this year's show, and it's very likely that God of War III will lead the charge.

We've already heard that SCEA will deliver a huge amount of content for the game, but we've got a few more specifics now. According to a variety of sources, it has been confirmed that GoWIII will be shown in a "public demonstration," and we can expect an updated version of any footage we've seen to date. BadAssGamer also says they'll have HD direct capture videos and screenshots available at the show, and they hint at some "surprise announcements" from both Sony and Microsoft, but that's not exactly shocking. We're all expecting something unexpected from the major players in the industry today, but we have this feeling that God of War III will steal the show. Oh, and let's not forget something else: there's a very good chance that SCEA will reveal the finalized and official launch date, along with a release date for a playable demo! Well, we assume the date for the final product will be in March 2010 as previously anticipated (and still listed as such by GameStop), but that demo might arrive sooner than we all think...

So anyway, stay tuned for more, but we imagine that all the best stuff will arrive at the show. If we're inundated with GoWIII footage, we won't be complaining; that's for damn sure.

you may need a set of special glasses so that when you view the game while play you eyes don't melt from sheer awesome. that's my guess.

I wouldn't be surprised if they gave us a demo of it this Summer.

But not just any demo, but a sweet demo to really grab us by the neck and make us preorder this things moooooonths away from the release date.

Sony seriously needs to release either GoWIII or GT5 along with the pricecut. Those are the only two games I believe will put a surge to PS3 sales. They are the only new "IP" to PS3. Uncharted 2 will be amazing, but whoever got hooked on the first game on PS3, already owns a console. Let's hope things all work out.

GT5 appeals to casual and hardcore gamers. It will sell millions. GT5P sold 3 millions games, the actual game will sell at least 5 million. This is huge. Let's hope GoW III has the same sales effect.

Well done. We all know Sony has terrible marketing techniques, but U2 will be a big seller among PS3 owners and they dont want to hinder that any. If GOW3 or GT5 came this holiday season.... U2 WOULD NOT sell. Plus either of the two formentioned hit titles will give the PS3 plenty of steam roller fuel for 2010!

why would U2 be affected? It's a completely different genre from GoWIII and GT5. People can buy both games. It's not like Resistance 2 competing last year with all those FPS.

You should be more worried that MAG hinders in sales because of U2. Maybe worry that gamers can't decide between TPS or FPS, but GoWIII GT5 won't cause any damage. On top of that, 2009 needs more variety of games to appeal to EVERYONE. E3 could announce more games for 2010, don't worry about next year. Sony won't dry up in good games. Don't need to save anything. FFXIII and FFXIII versus might come next year. It's huge enough to stand by itself

Plain & simple, alot of people dont have $120+ bucks to slam on two games at once. If GOW3 and U2 came around the same time, which one would you grab?! Theyll never release two or more great games too close together. NEVER, unless they want to hurt their own pockets and no matter what the genre.

Second only to Uncharted 2.

They don't need to put out a demo 6 freakin months before the game comes out. If they do, they need to piece it together using different parts throughout the game. I've noticed a few games have done that recently. F.E.A.R. 2 actually did that. Oh, I saw an Arkham Asylum demo at a Wal-Mart on a PS3 display. Some punk was playing it though. Didn't look bad at all. I'm guessing that it's some kinda Wal-Mart exclusive cuz it's not on PSN or Live at this point. Wolverine demo is on PSN. Ok, way off subject now :)

Krato's wins at life but the new footage better be a lot more interesting than the leaked footage I saw ;)

Though this game will be amazing anyway, if it's related to the last three games in any sense.

This is going to be a great E3, but I have heard many reports that GOW3 is coming out this year. Sony said in a report that this game along with Heavy Rain and MAG are all schedualed for a 2009 release. At least I hope so, because I am really pumped for all of those games!

Hey Ben I gotta say to be able to keep that secret game ....well.... a secret for so long it must be painful NOT to tell anyone when so many people are guessing what game it could be...I got just one idea that seems more likely to happen cause really even if I do want it to happened FFVII remake and Legend of Dragoon 2 seems slim but would be awsome. I think it's the ICO project no doubt since you left a pretty good clue in one of your articles :) but I'll be glad to be wrong if it means having Legend of Dragoon 2, FFVII, or even KH3.

Everyone thinks that Sony with kill MS this year at E3 but is it possible that they will show us the new Xbox? That will take a lot of attention away from Sony. It would be a very good move on MS's part.

ya that would suck for sony...but sony will probally show up with a new psp or sixsence or maybe even a new playstation that isn't nearly as powerful and will come with the sixsence and cost only like 100 bucks or so xD that would be so sick (for the casual gamer)

Hmm, wonder though, will we have fight like SoTC had?
Kratos also fight jumbo-sized enemies right?
I wonder if they're gonna imrpoved giant enemy fight.
And also the motion sensor of Dual Shock 3, remember the last time we push the analog left and right when Gorgons petrified us?
Wonder if this time will be shaking the whole controller instead.
