Splash Damage Hyping "Genre-Breaking Killer App" For E3
Obviously, everyone always expects to see new projects at E3; freshly announced games that nobody had heard of until that moment. And in 2009, we may see a sleeper title from Splash Damage...
According to That VideoGame Blog, whatever the developer's currently unannounced title is will be unveiled at E3 in a few short weeks time. We are reminded that the team went and snagged some great talent to work on the game; this includes Rainbow Six: Vegas' Art Director Olivier Leonardi, Mass Effect's Lead Character Artist Tim Appleby, and Burnout Paradise's Audio Director, Chris Sweetman. Therefore, we're hoping the Enemy Territory developer will produce something special and if we believe what they're hyping, we'll get exactly that: Splash Damage says it's a FPS that is also a "genre-breaker" and "a real killer app." Of course, designers are big into boarding the hype train early these days, but then again, with the ridiculous cost involved for producing a video game this generation, they kinda have to. On the flip side, we gamers have to be selective in the hype we choose to believe...in this case, without any footage whatsoever and nothing more than baseline info, we can't really form a reasonable opinion. Guess we'll just have to wait until E3.
This is only one of many new games that will probably first see the light of day in a few weeks time, and we plan to tell you all about them not long after they're announced.
