Kojima's New Game Announced In "T-Minus 3 Days"
By now, most everyone knows that the grand master, Hideo Kojima, is currently working on a brand new project at Konami. The most recent information we have says he plans to announce it at E3, but an inside tip says otherwise...
According to GamePlayer, a member of Kojima's staff has let it slip that we're going to hear about the new game in "T minus 3 days and counting." Now, I've always hated math but if my calculations are correct, that's some time this week and well before E3, which runs between June 2 and June 4. One might assume Kojima would keep this under wraps until then, simply for the purpose of a huge unveiling on one of the industry's biggest stages. But there's no rule that says you have to wait to announce your game at E3; the sooner the better, right? Of course, now the speculation will begin afresh: is it that MGS prequel with Raiden as the main character? A new Zone of the Enders? Or something else entirely? We're hoping it's something more than a Subistence-type announcement, where MGS4 will get a re-release with updated features and goodies. That'd be great and all - and we'd probably have to trade in our current copy to nab the upgrade - but we really want a whole new game from Mr. Kojima. Although it certainly isn't likely, wouldn't it be nuts if it turned out to be an RPG? Dear God, the fans would faint dead away. It's just too much to hope for...
Anyway, if Kojima's new project really does get announced before the week is out, we'll be sure to tell you all about it. If we remain in the dark...well, so what? The game will see the light of day at E3, as initially reported.

Kojima is the type of person that is never completely satisfied with his work because while some people shoot for the moon, he aims for the stars.
This is what makes him such a great game developer.

Say what now? Who have you been reading/listening to?
Kojima's comments were basically him saying that there was so much that could have been done if there was time to do it. His disappointment was with all the things he had in his head that he wanted to do but was unable to squeeze in. He's never expressed disappointment with his game or the PS3 or suggested that the PS3 somehow imposed limits on his development that are not inherent with all development platforms. You're reading far too much into a few comments made by Kojima.

How is he arrogant? He credits his staff more then himself. He cracks in jokes about his own games, in the games. Said he wishes he could have done more to make a great game even better. And even does stuff like this...

He is probably one of the most likable and non-egotistical people in the video game industry. That is why a lot of people want to work with him, that's why people like him.

Maybe his announcement will be a teaser, to generate interest for his E3 Teaser..a preview for a preview..just to build hype. Although Kojima rarely has to do anything except say his name in the gaming world to do that..but we'll have to wait and see I guess.

A comment to everything I've been reading about Japanese game developers trying to appeal to Western gamers (i.e.: FFXIII not a JRPG)...
STOP. Stop it now. I love variety. I love the Japanese style games, culture, and stories. A majority of the best games I played came from Japan. The games I remember most come from the land of the rising sun.
What's next? Western developers taking a stab at Japanese style games? Like another terrible JRPG wanna-be from UbiSoft in the form of Enchanted Arms?
I want imagination, culture, and most importantly story. Not western or eastern games.

Also who in the world would actually imagine Hideo Kojima who has stuck beside the PlayStation for so long actually suddenly go 360 exclusive?! I mean how on earth is that even possible? When has he ever gone Platform exclusive other than the PlayStation? And don't say GameCube...because Metal Gear Solid was on PSX if you didn't know...Metal Gear Solid 2 Substance was also on PS2 - just rare to find.
Again...complete bullsh** - also considering he's an Apple fanboy =)
As for his new game...WOW in 3 days? Can't wait...

I can actually be a good thing for the PS3 in the long run. Once anyone has played his new masterpiece they will all want to play more of his games. And the only way to do that is by getting a PS3 to Play MGS4, and when the next entry of MGS comes along Kojima will most likely choose to keep it exclusive to the PS3 as he did with 4, meaning people might pick up even more PS3's.
I hope I'm right thou. If not and if he make the next game a 360 exclusive I'll probably go off my tree, but n really doubt that will happen. He won't run that big of a risk by p******* of the Japanese market like that.
Either way, I'm eagerly waiting for this announcement to come.

T is for takeoff, and the minus is the amount of time left before takeoff.
If you say T minus two, and takeoff time is 0830, it is 0828.
"Holding" is another term meaning the countdown has stalled usually due to a technical problem.
T minus 2 and holding in this case would mean 0828 and countdown has paused until problem is resolved.
**************************
Another good example.....
T minus zero. "T minus zero" means "out of time."
This comes from a countdown convention used in by both the American military and NASA.
Generally, it is used when counting down to a major event that will happen at a specific time.
Mathematically, T is time, minus whatever amount of time is left until the event happens.
If the News Years ball is dropping in 10 minutes, one could say "The ball is dropping in T minus 10 minutes and counting!"
Therefore, "T minus zero" means that there is no time left.
****************************
Also "and counting" refers to the countdown clock already in actual "run-down" mode, so according to the article posted here on the 12th, "T-minus 3 days & counting" would be
May 15th at about the same time
(AND THAT'S TOMORROW).
So whether it be another MG game, or not, I still think the gameplay's going to be some kind of military, shuttle, & terrorist combined type of game.
(But since I can't afford to be calling "Miss Cleo" long distance at her prison, I could be wrong), LOL
