Heavy Rain Details Set For May 22

Late last year, it was on almost every PlayStation 3 owner's minds: Quantic Dream's ultra-promising project called Heavy Rain. But so far in 2009, we really haven't heard much about it.

Well, you won't have much longer to wait: the PlayStation blog has been all interview-happy as of late - check out the latest one that involves inFamous - and they've got one for Heavy Rain coming up on May 22! There's an embargo on the game for now, but it will soon get lifted in favor of that interview, which will be with a member of the Quantic Dream development team. In recent weeks, the blog's Jeff Rubenstein has conducted interviews for hot incoming games like White Knight Chronicles, MAG, and Uncharted 2: Among Thieves, so Heavy Rain is a logical addition to such an awesome lineup. Of course, we're all wondering what we can expect in the upcoming interview...perhaps we'll hear about a solidified release date? That may be too much to ask (and it may get revealed at E3, anyway), but it's a guarantee that you'll emerge from watching that interview with a new and interesting wealth of information. For those of you looking for highly original titles that place storyline and artistry high on the priority list, Heavy Rain should be right up your alley. Let's just hope the marketing is strong enough to push this IP towards strong sales...

Make sure you check the PS Blog on the 22nd; we'll also be sure to bring you any and all important details gleaned from that interview. We just can't wait!

What's with all these new info releases before E3? Are Sony contents that condensed that they can't fit them in? WOW

This is to much like Alan Wank, I mean Wake. Who the hell will spend money on a game like this? when inFamous, God of War and FF13 are abound.

I just don't see this game being a "blockbuster" but to those who think it will be then I hope you enjoy your wait.

I would spend money on a game like this.In fact I would take it over FF13 and infamous any day. Some people just have different taste in games.

lol they haven't shown ANYTHING yet for Alan Wake except for a short CG cut scene. No one has any idea what that game is like.

Also the fact that this game has been in development much longer than alan wake ;) so it'd be the other way around

Cannot wait till this game is released! Ratchet & Clank Future, Uncharted 2, and Heavy Rain are my must-buys this year. Obviously I'll be getting more titles but those are the priority.

Then google some information about it. It doesn't sound like there's a goal in this game anyway, it's more of an experience. You decide "what the point of it" is by the actions you make in the game.

Would you please inform me the point of a FPS, of other than to let off alot of agression. Its very story based, i personally like it due to how what you to does make a differents unlike Fable. I like how interactive everything is and experimenting with different scenarios.

Stellar. This game was one of the reasons I bought a PS3, and I've been hoping for more information about it since...well, since the last time they revealed anything!
I simply will not be sated until the disc is in my system and my controller is in my hands.

Looking forward to finding out more details on Heavy Rain!

Hey Ben, quick question... do you remember a while back at either last years E3 or maybe last years TGS some journalist got a behind the scenes look at an exclusive game for the PS3 and he was completely blown away by it? People had assumed that it might have been Heavy Rain, but he afterwards confirmed that it was NOT Heavy Rain.

Was it ever announced what game he was talking about? Was it M.A.G.?? This article on Heavy Rain reminded me of it and was wondering if it was ever revealed, or if you happen to know?

thanks!

I remember that also! I don't think the specific game was ever mentioned. I would love to know though.

Everytime I see the name of this game pop up, I can't help but think of the movie Bowfinger. They made a movie in there that was called "Fat Rain" or something...

The sad part is that now that I associate this game with that movie, I don't want it anymore..
The movie was pure Cheese.

I'm sure I'll change my mind when the game launches, but I just can't get the image of Eddie Murphy yelling "Got ya Suckas!" out of my head...lol

I just started checking out the PS Blog. They really have been doing a great job of getting questions answered from the community. I've been very impressed.

I missed Indigo Prophecy, but have heard mostly nothing but praise about it. I'm still a little skeptical about playing a game composed entirely of QTEs, but if the story and characters hold up, I can see this being a great game.

IP is very engrossing, ive played through it twice and on both times i played it through the whole day, i actually liked the gameplay style with QTE's, but i also found the areas and gaming in general very interactive, It did get a bit to surreal for its on good later on, but i still enjoy it. apparently this one is going to stick to reality (a sick on at that lol) so im very excited about it, if you havent seen the gameplay demonstration in the house, check it out on youtube, it looks phenominal.

I have seen both the “casting” & the game play trailers. I'm amazed by both.

This game looks stunning, probably a day one purchase for me. And how can you even compare this game to Silent Hill? They're completely different genres.
