PSX Extreme Interviewed By Tech HotDish

Okay, so I'm used to handling interviews as I've done many in the past, in both the general entertainment and video game industries, but up until now, I've never been interviewed...and I must say, it's a whole lot easier when one is the interviewee. No preparing questions, no dealing with troublesome agents or managers telling you what you can and can't ask, etc, etc, etc. It was fun!

The interviewer is the one and only TC from Tech HotDish, who not only has a history in gaming but also has a very distinct radio voice that seems to fit perfectly into the medium. He does podcasts during the week and you can scroll down to see some of his recent guests, and the subjects that are commonly discussed on his shows. I took it upon myself to listen to some of the most recent, including an eye-opening (or ear-opening, if you will) interview with Erin Bell from Gamezebo. We avid gamers often forget that the casual gaming market is absolutely gigantic, and while we're typically talking about a very different group of gamers, it's still interesting to learn about this "other end" of the industry. I also lent an ear to Joe Siegler from 3D Realms; TC says he was the first to learn of the studio's closing, and I'm perfectly willing to believe that. There are plenty of other podcasts worth listening to over there, so we strongly suggest taking the time to check 'em out.

Many of our long-time readers know me but they've never met me; hence, they've never heard me, either. And even though we don't go off on tangents involving other aspects of my life - as I tend to do sometimes at PSXE - at least you can hear my responses to some PlayStation and general gaming-related questions. I think it was a good interview and it's well worth a listen. And remember, TC does his shows almost daily during the week, and me-thinks he'll have some guests coming on in the future that will appeal to our readership here. So give a listen. :)

Ben, I was waiting for a more deep and bruting voice for some reason lol. But you have a voice of a very patient and cool headed person. Great Interview.

By the way Ben, 'bout the launch title for the ps3, he was talking 'bout Motorstorm.

He just said "country side" 'cause he probably saw bikes and such.

Haha amazing that you remembered Smuggler's Run. I still have that game!!! :D

Ben sounds like I pictured him to sound like to. I knew your name was prounounced Dutka as it looked, where is the guy that calls you Dukat on here :)

I loved this quote off the dj guy "Were getting to Ben in 2 shakes of a monkeys bum" lol I was crying with laughing for ages at that.

5 mins 54 seconds before Ben got to say a word.

I've been checking out different gaming news sites for a long time, and have to say that this site is my favorite. Mainly due to Ben Dutka and the crazy ass people who post here. Ya'll say some of the funniest sh** sometimes. If Ben got this interview because of a job well done, then I'd have to agree with it.

As for that MotorStorm thing, when he said it was a launch title, that threw me. I first THOUGHT it was MotorStorm of course, but that didn't come out until 5 months or so after the PS3 launched, right...?

I thought it was a launch title too but I guess I am wrong then wasnt it Resistance ?

I got Heavenly Sword, F1, Championship Edition, Motorstorm when I bought my PS3 a year after it came out. They were part of the deal I went and bought a pre owned copy of Resistance. Only one I have kept is Motorstorm. Heard they are doing another Motorstorm Arctic Edge thanks to Ben I noticed in one of his posts about E3, another one to look at and more than likely buy. :)

Re : Smugglers Run, I still have Smugglers Run 2 Hostile Territory lol love that game, lets go people, that womans voice did start to grate a bit tho :)
